A few weeks ago, I attended the @barcamplondon #bclh24 #hackathon! One of the challenges, was an open source challenge around democracy, so I was curious to find out what data sources I could use to get voting information. The end result is this Svelte app I put together in a few hours, which lets you enter a post code and get voting details for your local constituency. Thank you to everybody who came along to #BCLH24 this weekend
there were some fantastic hacks, a lot a dedicated people, and a comfortable excess of sugary treats!
we'll get a report up on the website as soon as we can
we are looking for one or two of the photos that we took
and we are looking for a return of some mental energy
both of those should arrive by Monday and the report will be up by Monday night

in contrast to yesterday the caterers have been in early
tea and coffee
pastries and fruit
and quite a few keen coders are here

it's a private account, because it's a younger member of the community (so we cannot boost the toot)
basically saying that the sort of tech community people that we get at hackathons are really helpful and on message
that tech can be both troublesome and rewarding
and that getting a bit of help from others and figuring out some of your own work arounds is a really satisfying, morale boosting experience
a great toot for those of us privileged to see it
it induces a smile!
