  1. A good piece (but written in German) on why #Hopium (#H2) will not be a solution for automotive use. All hopes of the past and present have been crushed. So why do some still insist on subsidising it? Political reasons of the far right kind, I suppose. Because it must be so much fun arguing against physics, because it fits so much better into a simplistic political narrative.

So, please, let's park the ludicrous idea of powering vehicles with a hydrogen fuel cell, and invest money more wisely into battery-electric vehicles.

  2. The 424 made it to the front page of this month’s RACE TECH Magazine! A six-page feature by @RaceTechmag covers the car’s development, designed using a simulator powered by Vehicle Physics Pro, turned into a full engineering tool.

I couldn’t be prouder to be a core part of this project 🤩

  3. Study shows which #vehicles #pollute the least in every #US county
The study compares internal combustion engine powertrains with #hybrid, 35- and 50-mile range plug-in hybrids, and 200-mile, 300-mile, and 400-mile #batteryelectric powertrains across compact and midsize sedans, small and midsize SUVs, and pickup trucks, using a life cycle assessment model developed by Argonne National Laboratory and data of model year 2025 vehicles from the #EPA.

  4. This is how we use data from the PERRINN simulator, powered by Vehicle Physics Pro, to stress-test a battery cell under the same conditions it would face in the real car. Top-level engineering at its finest.

All metrics are within spec, confirming that we can assemble the car using this cell.

  5. In August, 94% of every new private vehicle in #Norway, was a #BatteryElectric

The lowest number was up north in #Finnmark, where "only" 81,9% (...which in my opinion is still friggin' HUGE!)
The highest was in #Vestland on the west coast, with 96,6% (...which is nothing but impressive!)

    On a sidenote;
This fall, the total number of registered private #BEVs in use in Norway, will bypass the ICE and hybrid ones! 🤩

  7. "We need THREE times more #windmills#hydroelectric dams and (god forbid) gas fired #power stations to run #fuelcell vehicles over #batteryelectric to go the same distance.

We need FIVE times more if we run IC vehicles on e-fuels, when compared to battery electric."

  8. @rdfranke Did you know that over 90% of new cars sold in Norway are now #BatteryElectric vehicles? Reports of problems of #BatteryElectric vehicles in cold weather are somewhat exaggerated.

In cold weather, hydrogen fuel cells won't even start to produce power until they have been heated to above the freezing point... using power from the HFC vehicle battery!

ICE cars (especially diesels!) have more problems starting in cold weather than BEVs.

  9. Earlier today I posted a comment that posited that hydrogen was the better future for transportation than is battery electric, such as in Tesla.

I did receive a number of comments.

A good hydrogen information source that I suggest people follow is: Hypx @Hypx. I've found that site to be a good source for hydrogen research, technology, projects, and transportation solutions.

I haven't suggested, and I'm not suggesting, that hydrogen is the only solution, but I do suggest that everything that I've read about hydrogen technology solutions tells me that hydrogen is the better answer for environmental, technological, and infrastructure issues.

  10. Hydrogen is the better choice for the future cars and trucks.

Regarding current stories about electric cars and freezing temperatures with their problems with battery length of charge and with charge time reinforce that hydrogen is the future.

Everything that I've read about hydrogen technology solutions tells me that it is the best answer for environmental, technological, and infrastructure issues.

  11. Everyone's talking about which #EV to buy and whether #batteryElectric are better than #pluginHybrids.

Have you considered simply *not driving*?

Seriously; if you need to move your body dozens of miles at 60mph every day you are going to boil the oceans one way or the other.

If you want to use less energy you have to do less things. You can't change thermodynamics, just by buying a more expensive car.

The relative efficiency of #BatteryElectric and #HydrogenFuelCell vehicles (wind turbine to wheels) from a post by Auke Hoekstra of Eindhoven University of Technology.

As you can see, it's not even close.
