Quite happy about this. The two first ones were absolutely intentional, and on the third i immediately knew I missed.
These targets are HARD when doing instinctive shooting.

Just realised I boosted everyone else but didn't post mine 😅🤦🏻♀️
My #3goodthings for #Saturday:
1. After wearing a bra that wasn't a good fit yesterday, I really appreciated the one that was today 👍🏻
2. It was a sunny afternoon, so I went to the range for some #barebow practice. I didn't get as many golds as last time, but I've not been in a few weeks as I didn't have a car & the cold set in quite quickly 🏹
3. Played some of the #Overwatch Halloween events ⌨️🖱️

Completely oblivious to the time 😬 It's been a busy one!
My #3goodthings for #Saturday are:
1.Cleared out the porch & have coats/shoes ready for the charity shop ☺️
2.Cleaned out the fishtank 🐟 First time I've done a complete water change since the babies appeared.
3.Did some #barebow today (which I've not done in a while) Was doing my best Hawkeye impression using my back quiver. I got 4 golds in my best end, so I don't think I did too bad.

Had an opportunity to take a seminar by Jake Kaminski this week for a total of 18 hours. Good stuff 🏹 I'll be happy if I can consolidate the fixes to my form over the rest of the year...

The sky was overcast and the temperature was in the comfortable low twenties (Celsius obvs) this morning down the the archery range.
There was a gusty wind which didn't make for easy archery.
I didn't match my previous personal best of two weeks ago, but still made a respectable score for my short metric round.
It was good enough to count towards my AGB classification though.
I still need to work on tightening up those groups at 50 metres though.
Sigh ... -
I was back at the archery range again this morning (for I am a creature of habit).
It was overcast, a little cooler than of late and with very little wind.
Ideal archery conditions.I shot a short metric round again (yep, a creature of habit) and improved on last week's score by a whopping 42.
I still need to tighten everything up so that I can keep all arrows inside the blue on that 80 cm face at both distances.
Onwards and upwards.

I was down at the archery range again this morning at 07:00.
Shock horror there was somebody else there as well!
I shot a complete Short Metric round:
36 arrows @ 50 metres
then
36 arrows @ 30 metresOn an 80 cm target face in both cases.
It wasn't a brilliant score, but would have counted towards one of the AGB classifications.Next time I'll get someone to witness my scores.
By 09:00 the temperature was already 24 degrees centigrade.
So I left and went home. -
I had a very pleasant and productive morning at the archery range today.
Lovely sunny late spring weather and no real wind.
I've switched bow styles this year which has meant a fundamental change in shooting techniques.
So it's like being a beginner again.Shooting bare-bow and string-walking at 30 metres on an 80 centimetre target face.
I'm just beginning to get some reasonable arrow groups.
Practice, practice and more practice.

Not elated about my scores yet (4.88 average at 18m) but at least it’s improving. Hope to at least get back to my #barebow averages. I think it should be doable to get there this year.. if I don’t keep switching bows 😅 #archery #traditional

First day trying out a bow sling.
I've used a wrist sling for the past 6 months or so, and have preferred it to a finger sling.
Jury is still out on this one.
Pro: one less moving piece, and very trouble free. I've once shot my how off a cliff because I forgot the sling, and this would prevent that happening again...
Con: there's even less feedback than with a wrist sling: you don't really feel the bow jumping.
Can't complain about today's groups, though!

I'm not sure which is stranger, the way crawls change for short ranges, or the way metric and imperial units get both used.
I mean, my riser has both metric and imperial screws on it, and that's just WRONG.

Took a friend shooting today, and gave them 1.5h technical instruction at blank bale, after which we moved to shooting 18m.
Here are their ends 1, 4, 5, end 6. Forgot to take pics of 2 and 3.
They've never shot before, but have similar martial arts background as me (same schools and teachers.)
I'm SO proud of the way they shot!
Having a shared language to talk about the body helps a LOT, plus of course having a good body awareness from all that MA practice!

Last week I got Mantis X8, and spent a couple of days shooting with it, both blank bale and targets.
Immediate takeaways for my shot cycle:
1. My set up (ie. lifting the bow) was inconsistent, and the shots where it was most off had a clearly worse stability.
2. When shooting blank bale, since I skipped aiming I also skipped letting everything settle: my blank bale stability was worse than when shooting at a target!

@curtblanshan Thanks! #Barebow all the way, #risers from #GrayArchery and and #Gillo. For #fun i also use a wooden #longbow from time to time.
