"I spent 10 days travelling through Botswana, living out of my car and moving through remote desert landscapes in complete isolation, focused entirely on photographing the night sky. This location became the highlight of the trip: a small, ancient island rising from the middle of a vast salt pan."

Kein Witz: in #Australien gibt es Baumbilder, die der Orientierung dienen

Man findet die Baumbilder auf einer Baumart namens #Boab – das sind enge Verwandte der afrikanischen #Baobabs.

Diese Bäume sind möglicherweise 2.000 Jahre alt. Die Ritzunge zum Teil auch.

Das Baumbild hier zeigt eine Lingaschlange – das Symbol eines Clans, ein Ortsschild.

I have always had a special soft spot for #baobabs ever since reading 'Le Petit Prince' at school in England. Later, I lived in Tanzania, where they are as common as ash trees in England, and was delighted all over again. On long journeys, they were especially welcome in staving off boredom 😊
