Good morning Fedi friends. Pretty chilly old morning here in Melbourne at around 4c, the same as up home - but already it’s a beautiful sunny day & will reach a lovely 16c. I’ll only need my coat this morning.
A lot of people seemed to like the 3 pics I shared of the kinetic sculpture yesterday, thank you for the boosts. I’ve been looking online about the artist (Phil Rice), well worth having a look. He’s done some amazing work.
We were both extremely tired & footsore last night but slept well & feel raring to go again, just not quite so much. We have been deciding what to do today & had thought to take the same Frankston line & just get off at one of the beaches along the way. In the light of day though we’ve changed our minds & will be having a foray down to St Kilda for a lunch of fish & chips somewhere. St Kilda is where I lived 50yrs or so ago in a street behind Fitzroy St., so old haunts will be remembered. Looking forward to today.

Good morning tooters. A supposedly 7c start this morning but it feels very icy cold outside. A heavy rainstorm went through not long after I went to bed last night & continued for quite a while. More rain forecast for today & there is already a light drizzle & grey skies. Only going to reach 12c & will be a bit of a soggy one today.
I woke with a grumbly tummy this morning, I don’t think last nights meal agreed with me very much & will keep my food simple today. It is a shame because I made heaps & have two more meals in the fridge & 2 in the freezer 🫤.
I plan to do a Balance class once I’m showered & then will head down to my sisters for a couple of hours.
I have heard from my NZ friend too after she’d settled into her house sit, she has bought an aussie SIM card for her phone & sent me the number so I’ve arranged to ring her later today after she’s been out shopping for things she needs for herself like good coffee 😂.

Good morning tooters. It was almost frosty in my garden today & also an almost zero degree start, but the sun is up now & will be creeping through my garden soon. I can see a distant tv aerial on a house in the next street with barely a perching place left from all the pigeons on it. It is going to be another beautiful sunny ☀️ 15c day today which is great.
#BonnieTheDogNextDoor woke me up a number of times barking during the night. By 4am I’d had enough & got up, opened the lounge window & told her off. It shut her up for a couple of hours anyway.
Today I am planning a lovely Balance class before I go down the street for a few necessities, like cheese 🧀 - very important. Then the rest of the day is just doing little jobs around the place.
I have a final picture that I took on my last morning in Chiltern that I think is awesome. A branch was cut off a tree & it looks like the cut is rimmed with ice, but is actually light coloured sap.

Meeting up with a friend in a couple of hours for a walk that will include a coffee stop before we turn around to go back to our cars. It’s around 8 or so kms I think but with the coffee break it won’t be too hard. I’m looking forward to it.
I had some leftover cooked Kale after dinner last night, so chopped some of it up finely & added it along with some cheese to my morning omelette, it was yummy. Still a little left over, so again I will chop it up finely & put it in my pumpkin soup for tonight’s dinner.

Good morning tooting friends. Last full day in Chiltern & it’s a cold one. First frost of the season dipping below zero & a feels like of -2c, still it is going to be a beautiful sunny day reaching 15c. It certainly feels cold outside from what I felt when I let the cat out - brrr 🥶.
Not much planned today, just a walk for the dogs in about an hour. I brought three of my frozen meals with me & I’ve eaten them all, so tonight could be baked beans, or a cup of soup - both require toast. I’ve already had an egg on toast - so I guess it’ll be a toast type of day. I’ll see how I feel later. Usually when I come out here I bring too much food or I stretch it to extra meals - not this time. It doesn’t matter, I never not have food & there is Silverbeet in the garden - hmmm - thinking now 🤔.
Time for me to shower & get ready to go out, I wish I’d brought gloves 🧤 with me 🤷🏼‍♀️.

It’s not as if he doesn’t have a pet flap, but hey, why should he use a common pet flap used by the dogs when a human can let him in 🤣. Actually I think the neighbours might also be feeding him, he’s getting quite plump. 8c when I got up, but it definitely felt colder when I opened the door. Only reaching 12c here today too with more rain around.
I have to get moving shortly & take the dogs for their walk while it’s still fairly calm out there. Then I’ll be changing my clothes & going to picked up Miss 7 & Miss 14 from Barnawartha & take them out for the day. I think we will head to Corowa, something different. They like checking out op shops as well & I’ve checked, Corowa has 3. Then we’ll find somewhere for lunch & if the rain does stay away I know Miss 7 would love a playground. That’s a wait and see activity though.

Good morning tooters. Another mild night & 12c on waking up. I didn’t hear any rain overnight, but that doesn’t mean anything. As soon as I got up though it started pouring & was quite heavy for a while. It’s going to get to 16c again today & I haven’t really needed the heater on. There is storms & heavy rain forecast for the day - oh goody 🫤.
I am heading out this morning though. A friend has been looking after her daughter after she broke her ankle & needed surgery. She’s a bit over it all so we’re going out for coffee ☕️ & her husband can take over, he helps anyway, but there are things a Dad can’t really do comfortably for an adult daughter. That will more than likely be all I do today. A walk would be nice but as I’m off to Chiltern for 4 nights from tomorrow house/pet sitting, I’ll get plenty of walks with the dogs.
Things are definitely slow at home when I’m videoing worms crossing my back porch for fun 😂.

Good morning tooters and a very dull grey, dark rainy day it is here on the border & across Victoria. A very mild 12c when I got up & I even pushed my doona down overnight & only had the thinner quilt over me. I was still cosy & warm though. It’s forecast to reach 15c today & has actually already got there. Rain is also forecast here for the next couple of days as well.
When I took my glasses off last night as I settled for sleep, they got caught in my sleeper earring & it came undone & out. It’s small so I just put it in the side table to deal with today. This morning I carried it into the bathroom so I could see what I was doing & it slipped out of my hand & down the front of my pjs & fleece dressing gown. Do you think I can find it. It’s not attached to the fleece in my dressing gown or its pockets, it’s not in my pjs, it’s not in my lambswool slippers, it’s not on the floor, it’s not on the vanity 🤷🏼‍♀️. It must be in one of those places & did I mention it’s tiny - so I’m just not seeing it - yet! Quite often these things turn up anyway.
An at home day today which will include a yoga class. I’m going to make meatballs & sauce for dinner & I’m going to be sweeping the floor, minutely examining my dressing gown, pjs & slippers & maybe crawling around on said floor, just in case 😂🤣 - I’m a determined old woman.

Good morning tooters and a very dull grey, dark rainy day it is here on the border & across Victoria. A very mild 12c when I got up & I even pushed my doona down overnight & only had the thinner quilt over me. I was still cosy & warm though. It’s forecast to reach 15c today & has actually already got there. Rain is also forecast here for the next couple of days as well.
When I took my glasses off last night as I settled for sleep, they got caught in my sleeper earring & it came undone & out. It’s small so I just put it in the side table to deal with today. This morning I carried it into the bathroom so I could see what I was doing & it slipped out of my hand & down the front of my pjs & fleece dressing gown. Do you think I can find it. It’s not attached to the fleece in my dressing gown or its pockets, it’s not in my pjs, it’s not in my lambswool slippers, it’s not on the floor, it’s not on the vanity 🤷🏼‍♀️. It must be in one of those places & did I mention it’s tiny - so I’m just not seeing it - yet! Quite often these things turn up anyway.

Good morning tooters. It was a fairly mild night of 8c but today will only reach 14c with rain forecast for most of the day. Although looking at the radar it’s going around us at the moment. The sky isn’t even very dull either, just a bit overcast. So while up to 25mm is forecast, I’m not sure how much we’ll get. If the rain hangs off for a while I’ll get a little weeding done. Much easier at this time of year with the ground being softer.
Not too much on the agenda today either. I won’t be seeing my daughter as usual, she’s been asked to work today, but she has asked if I’ll go & do a job for her that will get me out of the house for a little while at least. First up this morning though I want to do a Balance class, I need to get back to some more formal regular exercise while I can. I’ll do that after my shower.

Good morning tooting friends. It’s the first real brrr 🥶 morning today, with just 2c first thing & a feels like of 0c. Still, the sun is just about up & peeking over the hills & while some areas may have had frost, my garden is just heavy dew again. I can tell it’s going to be a brilliant sunny & clear winters day & will reach 16c again.
I’ll definitely be mowing this afternoon & with luck that’ll be sorted then for the next month at least 🤞🏼. I have washing to hang out, but I’m not quite ready to brave the cold. Maybe when I’ve finished this 😁. Then it’s into a hot shower & get ready for my day. An at home day where housework needs doing 🫤 (boo hiss).
In other good news, I think. My younger sister is out of hospital, her platelets have passed the halfway point. She has to have blood tests twice a week & there will be other things needing to be dealt with via specialists.

Good morning tooters. It was definitely a chilly start today, just under 4c when I got up & it dropped a little further. No frost, but very heavy dew. Already stripped my bed & washed the sheets & brrr it is quite fresh out there. The sun is out though & it will be a lovely 16c today. If this continues into tomorrow as is forecast I’ll be mowing, this milder weather has kept them growing albeit a little slower.
Had a phone call from Adelaide yesterday evening, my younger sister who was over here a few weeks ago is in hospital & has been there for the last week. Apparently her blood platelets dropped to alarming levels & she’s also been bleeding for quite some time & not dealt with it. She’s 69, so it shouldn’t be happening. They haven’t found a cause yet, still doing tests but have her on steroids & meds & slowly the platelet levels are improving, still a way to go though. I have to say it’s a bit worrying for us all. Sometimes you feel so far away.
For me, my day will be relatively quiet. I need a few things at the supermarket & the chemist. I also want to get some potting mix & some greens to plant, Silverbeet & Kale is what I fancy, but I’ll see what’s on offer. The soup I made the other day is more a veg stew than anything & that will be my dinner plus 5 meals in the freezer.
