Since I started making #astrolabes, it has always been a dream of mine to be able to make shiny brass ones, like you see in museums.
A few months ago, I purchased a fiber laser with the goal of making this happen.

I am delighted to announce the first fruits of this endeavor - a brass fixed-plate astrolabe!

I’ve also designed and made leather belt pouches to keep them in.

My first two are made for 30º latitude (Central Texas) and will be available on Etsy soon!
