I had to combine #TraditionalMedia with edits in #GIMP to create a piece worth sharing. I don't think that's a bad thing.

I've also changed my #ARTFOL username to my writing alias. I feel like art, unless you have a brand, needs a more personal touch.

I've updated my #Artfol profile a bit tonight.
I'm not exactly good enough for, you know, making money from it, but I wanted somewhere to gradually upload my sketches to, so they were in one place.
In that way, I hoped to improve over time and be able to show it, rather than the photos of my drawings fall into the black hole that is my memory.
I have a few still to photograph. But, it's a start.

I went into Artfol for the first time in a week and there was a little banner at the top. Part of it was covered by a loading symbol, and I thought it said, "Artfol is bellying up" and I got jump scared SO bad XD

If you publish art or writings on any of the sites listed in the tags below, your works have likely been included in a dataset for AI training. Public access to AO3, CharacterHub, and PaintBerri data has been (temporarily) disabled, but the owner may reinstate access at any time.
However, three datasets are still freely accessible. Those sites include Artfol, Itaku, and Paperdemon Art.
If you want to opt out, steps for getting your work removed are included in a Google Doc in the prior link. I highly suggest also reading the first article for full context.

Currently I haven't filed a DMCA, but simply created an account on HuggingFace, raised a copyright infringement issue and sent an email to nyuuzhou requesting that my art be removed (Along with a CSV of the links and titles of my pieces). Hopefully this will be sufficient!

Found this Artfolmas challenge, (based on the official one from last year run by the developers), created by emoroadsign. The only other prompt-based challenge I've participated in so far is FanPrompt, and I'd love to try a seasonal challenge. I definitely won't be doing all the prompts, but I'll try to do at least several to get in the holiday spirit!

Finally remembered to repost my latest FanPrompt fill to my Artfol. I posted it to the Sonic the Hedgehog group, but apparently stuff in groups doesn't also show up in public search and people's feeds, and there doesn't seem to be a way to opt it in. So I just reuploaded it in the standard way so it could show up in both places 😅

I can't edit comments on Artfol, so whenever I forgot to say something in the OG comment, I just reply to my own comment with the other thing. Cool, right?
Problem is, it pings me when I reply to my own comments. Since I've been commenting on several artworks, I keep getting excited that a creator liked my comment or responded to me, when it's actually just me. I've done it twice now :blobcatnotlike:

Does anyone know how posting to groups works on Artfol? Namely, if it's possible to have your artwork show up in both the group AND have it be visible within the main site? Because the default appears for any artworks posted to groups to be invisible except to group members.
For example, there was one artwork I liked in a Sonic the Hedgehog group on there, but when I tried to repost it, my repost just showed the text 'content not available'. I'm wondering if it's because the creator didn't include hashtags, or if it's just a quirk of group posting.
If I need to post the same artwork twice, one in the group and the other post to public timelines, so be it, but it would be nice to know if anyone has had experience with it. Though it would be easier to have all the comments in one place.
