The use of #AoPol has also not been implemented into the updated rule both due to its use as the ISO 3166 code for Angola, and its potential more broadly to mean earth/global/world, but in the interests of using te reo Māori, we've added #tōrangapū—which is the Māori word for politics—as an option for tagging. Lastly, we will be sure to create a thread reminding everyone on how to use filters should this rule pass. (3/5)

Like many pākehā here on Mastodon, I am very wary of appropriating Te reo Māori or appearing to be anything other than a complete newbie. I am also very wary of 'seeking redemptive attention', a wonderful phrase used by Alison Jones in her book , 'This pākehā life: an unsettled memoir'. (See link below). That being said, I will use only the Te reo Māori place names from now on. And maybe we should use #AoPol as well.
