Um den enormen Hunger nach Rechenleistung im KI-Zeitalter zu stillen, setzt Amazon auf eine hochgradig umstrittene Initiative: Der Online-Großhändler, der mit seinem Dienst Amazon Web Services (AWS) auch zu den weltweiten Cloud-Hyperscalern zählt, plant in Texas einen riesigen Campus für ein Rechenzentrum, der von einem eigenen, gigantischen Gaskraftwerk mit 7,65 Gigawatt (GW) Leistung angetrieben werden soll

Als ganz tolle schokoschnitte will amazon in seinen PResseerklärungen verkaufen, dass das ja völlig getrennt von der öffentlichen stromversorgung sei und deshalb nicht die geringste last für die gebeultelten stromkunden darstelle. Der wirkliche grund für die entscheidung, irgendwelche überkapazitäten nicht verkaufen zu wollen, dürfte ein anderer sein: amazon muss dann keine grenzwerte für schadstoffe einhalten. Die haben bestimmt ihre angelernten neuronalen netzwerke gepromptet, wie man das am besten schönlügen kann und die tollsten vorschläge gleich in ihre PResseerklärungen übernommen. Ansonsten sind sämtliche folgen scheißegal, so viel schönes geld! Wisst ja: rechenmaschinen halluzinieren nicht. Sie rechnen. Menschen halluzinieren. Vor allem, wenn sie an geld denken.

Hoffentlich ist der scheißheip bald vorbei! Hoffentlich platzt die mit dummheit, heißluft und geld gefüllte blase bald!

Bis dahin mein vorschlag: helft amazon beim stromsparen! Jede bestellung kostet dort ein bisschen strom. Bestellt woanders! 😁️

Waarschuwing voor "Browser in the Browser" aanvallen

Bij een BitB-aanval toont een nepwebsite een nep pop-up-venster dat eruit ziet als een (deels of geheel) nieuw browser-venster. Gesuggereerd wordt dat u uw inloggegevens moet invoeren op bijvoorbeeld:

https:⧸⧸accounts.google.com/signin/v3/

maar dat is allemaal fake: door u ingevoerde nloggegevens vallen zo in handen van de eigenaar van de onderliggende website, die daarmee als u kan inloggen en uw account kan kapen.

Onderin https://gist.github.com/BushidoUK/57c38d5ee75481fb237e968a537de778 ziet u een lijst van criminele domeinnamen waar deze techniek op werd of nog wordt toegepast.

De hieronder getoonde website is gehost bij Amazon (zie het RELATIONS tabblad van https://www.virustotal.com/gui/domain/marriott-hiring.com). Als u zou openen (dat raad ik af):

moet u eerst een vinkje zetten, zogenaand om te bevestigen dat u een mens bent. Daarna verschijnt het beeld dat linksonder te zien is.

De feitelijke BitB-aanval ziet u in het 2e plaatje (meer info onder ALT).

Nb. met een passkey is deze aanval niet mogelijk omdat de domeinnaam niet klopt. Zwakke 2FA (SMS, TOTP of Number Matching) voorkómt *niet* dat u slachtoffer wordt.

Gebruikmakend van mijn browser vanaf mijn (Nederlandse) IP-adres wijzen alle links in de screenshot linksonder, voor zover ik die gecheckt heb, naar een echte https://capitalone.com pagina. Maar voor mensen met een IP-adres in de VS kan dat anders zijn.

Op dit moment beschouwen 17 van 94 virusscanners de nepsite als kwaadaardig Of de door u gebruikte virusscanner daarbij zit, is te zien in https://www.virustotal.com/gui/domain/d26hpdecvhwn5s.cloudfront.net (Google Safebrowsing, gebruikt door veel browsers, vindt het allemaal prima).

De nepsite bestaat al sinds minstens 18 feb 2026 (bron: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/url/cb2fda5e0a5bb63752db141db4b85ee00d544d11e3900ed6c31ea8fa8706c9e4/details).

Amazon is ook nog eens een door browsers vertrouwde certificaatuitgever - de slager keurt diens eigen rottende vlees.

Een "pre-certificate" (nog niet ondertekend door andere certificaatuitgevers, maar met alle relevante gegevens aanwezig) van het certificaat dat mijn browser ontving, kunt u zien in https://crt.sh/?id=24621003947. https://www.amazontrust.com anonimiseert hiermee egenaren van websites volledig.

Rechtsonder ziet u de echte https://capitalone.com website. Het certificaat daarvan kunt u bekijken in https://crt.sh/?id=24147672644.

Once upon a time I had a #kindle and I bought two books from #Amazon one of which, ironically, was on #anarchism (imagine that, given that we have https://theanarchistlibrary.org ).

Then, some time after, Amazon froze my account due to "suspicious activity". I was supposed to contact support to get it opened. I was happy I only had two books.

De phishingsite, waar ik op 12 maart over schreef (https://todon.nl/@ErikvanStraten/116216004495882854), is nog steeds live.

Die site wordt nu door 2 van 94 virusscanners als kwaadaardig gezien, namelijk door "Chong Lua Dao" en "Webroot": https://www.virustotal.com/gui/domain/digitaalformulier.4417.info

De site wordt "gehost" (feitelijk geproxied) door Cloudflare sinds 3 maart via de IPv4-adressen 104.21.89.55 en 172.67.188.36 (naast twee IPv6 adressen).

En die site gebruikt een Let's Encrypt https server certificaat dat nog niet is ingetrokken - maar beschikt ook over een nog geldig certificaat van Sectigo (zie https://crt.sh/?Identity=4417.info&deduplicate=Y).

Als gegevens client-side worden versleuteld vóór upload en ontsleuteld na download heb je een hele dure *domme* versleutelde disk op afstand. Je kunt dan niet allerlei slimme bewerkingen (en zoekopdrachten) uitvoeren zonder data te downloaden. Dit heeft dan ook niets meer met SAAS en andere gebruikelijke clouddiensten te maken.

Het alternatief is dat (ook) AWS een sleutel heeft, maar dan is het game over voor NL zodra AWS een FISA Section 702 (o.i.d.) gag order ontvangt (met een zwijgplicht instructie erbij).

In het eerste geval kan AWS of een drie-letter overheidsdienst betrokken ambtenaren (bijv. middels social engineering of omkoping) overhalen om de sleutel af te staan.

Geef ze niet onze data, ook niet versleuteld. Doe je dat wel dan hebben zij "the cards". Behandel de VS alsof het ransomware-criminelen zijn.

Dealen met de US big tech lobby is vechten tegen de bierkaai...

In 2026 small businesses are being targeted - whole online shops are being copied to route their sales through the Amazon site.

This is happening without the consent of those businesses and uses automated data & image scraping.

Presumably Amazon is trying to gather more sales data to pick promising products to knock off.

The twist is that Amazon are trying to sell this as a benefit to those businesses, when it's clearly not.

@mboelen en @josgeluk : strooming.nl wordt momenteel gehost op 76.76.21.21, een Amazon server met *duizenden* websites waaronder veel scamsites (mogelijk een proxy, zie https://www.virustotal.com/gui/ip-address/76.76.21.21/relations - open het RELATIONS tabblad als dat niet vanzelf gaat).

www.strooming.nl zat eerder achter Cloudflare's afvalputje (188.114.96.*) nl. op 188.114.96.2 (https://www.virustotal.com/gui/ip-address/188.114.96.2/relations). Dat is waar Cloudflare sites naar toe verplaatst bij veel klachten.

Momenteel zit www.strooming.nl achter 104.21.53.240 (mirror: 172.67.220.76): https://www.virustotal.com/gui/ip-address/104.21.53.240/relations. De laatst gecheckte domeinnamen (websitenamen) op 104.21.53.240 voorspellen al niet veel goeds (zie screenshot).

Een kort onderzoekje wees uit dat infodwi.nl wél legitiem lijkt (met een totaal ongeloofwaardige domeinnaam).

Kennelijk heeft onze overheid op 1-1-2024 een nieuw drinkwaterbesluit genomen - dat in elk geval *instellingen* (zoals verpleeghuizen) verplicht tot controles, zie https://wetten.overheid.nl/BWBR0030166/2024-01-01.

Of terugstroombeveiligingen in woningen jaarlijks moeten worden gecheckt, heb ik nog niet kunnen vinden (ik zoek nog even verder).

TLDR; It's a completely effed up system that gives Amazon more control over its slaves than North Korea. Reading this, it's not surprising so many big money corporations like fascist governments. With absolutely no government controls on their behaviours, they'll all be implementing these systems.
