#HappyBirthday to Julie Frances Christie, the versatile, Oscar / BAFTA-winning English film, stage and television actress, born in Assam #OnThisDay in 1940. Her first major (eponymous) role was in the BBC's #AForAndromeda (1961) and she worked memorably with, among others, John Schlesinger, Robert Altman, Truffaut (#Fahrenheit451, 1966), and David Lean. Extraordinary as two bereaved mothers, in Nicolas Roeg's unforgettable #DontLookNow (1973) and Donald Cammell's chilling #DemonSeed (1977).
