I also can't wait to restart gaming on the #MacMini. Waiting on the #Acasis #ssdenclosure (Tbu405 Pro M1 w/ fan, tool-less) to arrive so I could use it instead of the internal SSD. I got a #Samsung #980pro 2TB, but only afterward did I find out that there's some major firmware failures! Luckily mine is produced in June 2023 so hopefully it has the new firmware starting with 5 and not 3. Read up on the issue if you're using a #SamsungSSD980Pro. #nvme #firmwareupdate

The #X5 (portable #Thunderbolt SSD) had excessive throttling due to poor cooling (magnesium instead of aluminum and very poor thermal pad) and the #980Pro was borked after a firmware upgrade that was supposed to fix a known issue that would lead to the drive's death (read only mode) soon. Both experiences were very frustrating due to the instability I had with my M1 mini because of them. Finally all looks good now. 2/2
