#24HoCS day two has not exactly gone to plan.

Usually I just hole up in the house and undramatically rack up hours while ignoring the real world. But this time we had to go outside, got rained on a lot, and accidentally became bystanders to what I can only describe as A Stressful Public Incident.

But I've managed to finish off the body of this coverup, so there's that. It needs blocking and weaving and a drawstring but that can be a next week problem.

Now back to cross stitching those crabs!

And now I've finally got off my backside and gone upstairs to dig it out, this will be the starting point on Beachfront Home (aka Unruly Crabs).

Those three projects should keep me going, in fact this one on its own would probably fill the whole weekend given that it's way less complete than I remembered it being. Oops 😅

It's 24 Hours of Cross Stitch weekend and honestly I'm not going into this one feeling confident at all! Too tired, too hot, too having-a-wedding-ring-crisis, too all-round bleugh.

So I'll be joining Team Rebel for this one, I think. Here are my plans:

- 4 days instead of 3
- Multiple projects instead of my usual single-minded focus
- One of those projects is crochet (shush)

Almost forgot to post my final #24hocs update from this weekend. I mean, imagine! 😱

So. 24 hours got me 1909 stitches, which is pretty tragic but this pattern is very bitty. Half of the A and a good start on the M, after over three years of zero progress I will take it!

We had quite a few 24h finishers, others who achieved their own smaller goals, and as ever a group of rebels doing 24 hours of...

- Coat Sewing
- Coastal Sunshine
- Crazily Spinning
- Caring (for) Snakes

Stopping point for day 2, finished the A minus a couple of missing colours and moved on to the first leg of the M.

Will try and get to the floss shop in the morning because those gaps are too annoying and I need to fill them in asap!

18.5 hours down, which is by far my best ever result by the end of day two. But maybe it's less "cool" and more "indicative that I truly have no life at all outside of crafting", hmm 🤔

Starting point on the day! I managed 8.5 of the 24 hours yesterday and have no plans to go anywhere, do anything or even get dressed today, so that should leave a nice easy Sunday! In theory, anyway.

This may be the untidiest stitching I've ever done but it looks good from a distance and that's what matters 😁

Absolutely no idea how I got from "let's stitch something easy with no thinking required this weekend" as of last night, to digging out this old (somewhat hated) project as my #24hocs plan, but here we are.

This is my starting point on the Gamer SAL from PixStitch that was a charity thing from 2021, honestly not sure if it's still available or not but it's pretty cool.

Spent the first of my 24 hours just prepping, getting it into the frame, manually adding 90-odd colours to Pattern Keeper. And then started hour two by doing 4 stitches then immediately frogging them.

This bodes well 🙃

Once again, somehow, it's 24 Hours of Cross Stitch this weekend. Feels like about five minutes since the last one and I'm exhausted before we even start, but then my sense of time has never exactly been great.

My plan was to try a stamped kit for the first time, since a friend recently destashed one at me. But I opened it just now to take a photo and it turns out to not be stamped at all!

Back to the drawing board, I'm sure I can find something else to keep me occupied all weekend 🤦‍♀️

Finished 20 of the #24hocs. Completed my #musselburghhat (which is also for #wipgo) and made progress on my floral letter J and #totoro. #crossstitch #knitting

Ok, back to life and time for the usual post-#24hocs stat update.

This ended up being 3369 stitches over the three days, 42.9% completion. I would've sworn I was at least halfway!

We had some more finishers overnight, and also quite a few who made it to around the 20 hour mark and / or actually finished projects which is always very nice to see.

Our unofficial rule is that this is just a bit of fun so if you can make it fit the acronym it totally counts towards your time. This round we had people doing 24 Hours of:

- Craft Staring
- Cardio Swimming
- Creating Spreadsheets
- Constructing Swedishness
- Chatting (to) Stitchers
- Cat Shenanigans

And a few decided to let themselves have today to try and get the full hours in too, so I'll be off to cheer them on some more now 😁

24 Whole Hours of Cross Stitch!

This final update gets its own non-threaded post, because turns out Pixelfed is a bit buggy with showing threaded ones and EVERYONE needs to know I did TWENTY FOUR hours of cross stitch this weekend 😂

Finished the marathon over three hours earlier than I ever have before, too. Sadly couldn't get even close to a finish, especially after yesterday's frogging sesh, but such is life.

Now to put this down for at least a week while I recover, hooray! Not sure what to do with the rest of my night, cheer everyone else on I suppose.

Eighteen hours and that is definitely me done for the day.

This time last year I was staying up and getting extra hours because the Packers were in playoffs, but alas that is not the case this time round (sad cheese noises).

Six hours to go tomorrow, which should be doable even with our plans to actually go outside a little bit 🤞

For the first time ever, I've actually managed a full 8 hours stitching on the first day of #24hocs. It's a miracle!

We also did some video chatting and whatnot and I accidentally knocked my laptop off a precarious tower of empty chocolate boxes, so it's been an eventful day.

Let's see if I can keep up the energy tomorrow!

Starting point for 24 Hours of Cross Stitch, yep it's a brand new start! Yesterday's sensible plan got scrapped already, haha.

Missing five of the called-for colours so may need to nip to the shops later, currently undecided whether I'll cheat and count shopping time in with the 24, depends how far behind I am.

I've committed to doing at least one video call to kick off the celebrations later today, and we have a friend attempting a 24 hour stream from 9pm UK time tonight which seems like madness to me but just goes to show the #24hocs hype is real 😂

Tomorrow kicks off the first 24 Hours of Cross Stitch weekend in 2025! Who's in for this round?

I was all sensible and prepared, or so I thought, but my floss order is stuck in limbo so now I need to pivot.

Thinking I'll maybe break out a full coverage from hibernation and see what 24 hours of progress can do, so I've just been ferreting around to find all the colours for that. Forgot how satisfying it is seeing them all laid out!

Of course now @infinitybear has gone and announced a sale so maybe this plan will change again, if I can actually get my credit card working before the sale ends. We'll have to see what fate has in store 🤔

To sum up this thread, then:

It was, in fact, 24 hours. So I'm glad I didn't accidentally stop at 23!

3141 stitches, 7.85% completion, not bad for three days especially with how tired I was going into it!

It was a fairly chill #24hocs this time round, not a huge number of finishers, but some first-timers which is always fun.

New friends in Discord, everyone cheering each other along regardless of actual hours put in, it's always such a wholesome time.

But I'll maybe switch to knitting for a few days until I recover.

Didn't have time yesterday to give final update, but I think I did about 19 hours in total of cross stitch last weekend. I think because my clock lost my progress at some point yesterday. Still very happy with my progress and sometimes it's nice concentrate on one project.

Actually I lost track so there's a small chance this is 25 hours, let's just say it's "at least" 24 😅

Really enjoyed working on this pattern so far, it's big enough to be challenging but small enough that I can get good progress in short bursts of time. Plus of course, there'll be a sloth in it (eventually).

Finishes are still coming in over on discord so I'll wait until tomorrow to do a final update, but it's been really fun cheering on everyone who gave it a whirl this time round, well done all!
