@DJDarren @urlyman The way I understand this manifesto, the idea is to use computers for longer AND to optimize software around that, not either/or. Take for instance #Nura / #postmarketOS. I'm already using a thrifted Pixel 6a, but once it's no longer supported by GrapheneOS because of upstream Android cycle, I'm going to keep using that phone and put Nura on it - though security is worse, but in parallel I might thrift another Pixel. The laptop I use? Belonged to my mother, can't run Windows 11, runs #OpenBSD perfectly fine - and, like with #NetBSD, I could also use an even older computer. My current desktop? A SFF mini-PC that's not first-hand either. My WIP homelab PC? Built mostly out of pre-existing components lying around.
