  1. CW: Firefox 149 split tabs on mobile

Here's the new split tab feature in Firefox 149.
What do you think, is this useful or should it be hidden by default on mobile?

(There's no option to split the tabs top/bottom.)

  2. Today, @ollieparanoid tagged #MobileConfigFirefox 5.1.0:

For details, see the announcement on gitlab:
    https://gitlab.postmarketos.org/postmarketOS/mobile-config-firefox/-/tags/5.1.0

The highlight with this release is, that we can ship different CSS for release (currently 146.*) and ESR (currently 140.6), and thus fix up UI customizations in release without worrying and finding ways to not break ESR while doing so (and, in theory, vice versa). That's really great!

(And all this is in addition to really cool features like the new about:mobile settings page @dannycolin made for 5.0)

  3. CW: mobile-config-firefox, happiness, alpine

Few MRs have made as happy as this one:

Not having to care about bad old 128 anymore is sooo good 😀️🥳️

  4. I just tagged a new #mobileConfigFirefox release https://gitlab.postmarketos.org/postmarketOS/mobile-config-firefox/-/tags/4.6.1.

If you long for major improvements, don't get your hopes up - this release ships what we've in master had since mid April, making the urlbar experience a tad less bad on ESR 140 and release (142). We've kept changes intentionally small to not put much rebasing-pain on other changes that have been in the works. Yes, I am talking of the changes demo-ed https://floss.social/@dannycolin/115028736709485997 here 😃

Once the rework lands, we should be able to move quicker (for various reasons, including having ways to adjust things for 140 and newer without worrying about breaking ESR 128 (still in #postmarketOS 25.06) all the time) and make your #LinuxMobile #Firefox experience more pleasant again. :-)

  5. Add Water is a fun new app make #Firefox feel more native on #GNOME If you're careful, you can use it on mobile:
    flathub.org/apps/dev.qwery.Add
(Don't use the "Hide Privacy Indicators" setting, it'll break mobile-config-firefox.)

  6. The new appMenu.css issue in introduced with Firefox 127 (see linmob.net/mcf14-almost-128/) was surprisingly easy to tackle: codeberg.org/1peter10/mobile-c

With this, I also made room for the Translate button, so that the appMenu does not show a scroll bar by default.
Edit: MR has been merged by now!

This needs some testing (help welcome!), and if it turns out to be fine, I'll open a merge request.

  7. CW: mobile-config-firefox spoilers

This was easier than I thought:
