Someone followed on the bird site posted a video of Journey playing Don’t Stop Believin’ live with the caption “when vocalists could actually sing without auto tune.” No matter how one might feel about Journey, Steve Perry does have an amazing set of pipes. So I decided to take my M4A version, drag it into Logic & generate the stems. Firstly I’m blown away by how accurate the splitting is. Secondly I’m amazed at how simple the song is and how well it’s produced.
