Cowboy Junkies (feat. Natalie Merchant) - Misguided Angel
Trinity Revisited version -
This #TuneTuesday’s theme, by @mdmrn, is #IGetItNow - Songs that made you finally understand why folks liked a certain artist
From my best friend, who died way too early, I inherited his Emmylou Harris, Cowboy Junkies and Springsteen collections (and a lot more).
My understanding for his love of Cowboy Junkies and Springsteen both started with a dvd.
This was Springsteen's eye-opener for me

Dionne Warwick - I Say A Little Prayer
Intended by lyricist Hal David to convey a woman's concern for her man who's serving in the Vietnam War, it was recorded by Dionne Warwick in a 9 April 1966 session. Although Bacharach's recordings with Warwick typically took no more than three takes (often only taking one), Bacharach did ten takes on "I Say a Little Prayer" and still disliked the completed track, feeling it was rushed. José Prates - Nanã Imborô
Sometimes it's difficult to tell what the 'original' recording is.
In 1958, José Prates recorded a track called "Nanã Imborô" that appears on his album Tam... Tam... Tam...! (1958, Polydor Brasil), which features the underlying melody and vocalizations later used by Jorge Ben in "Mas que Nada"; these motifs would be further highlighted by Sergio Mendes’ arrangement in his version of the song in 1966.
