Banqiao #板橋 is seriously a place I could see myself living at. Just outside where we were staying there are two day markets (literally adjacent to each other) with just about any meat, produce, or seafood I could want. These are mostly food stand pics, but trust me.

I'm honestly not sure how to best tackle that second point.
Although our infrastructure is incomparable to that in a lot of other countries, this is still a #CarCentric country. Cars are everywhere, they got bigger the last n years, and if you have to share the road with them, you'll have to hope the driver is paying attention and yields to you.
We almost got driven off the road with a group recently because a driver did not want to yield where he should.

Quite honestly I don't even know why we were having so much beef noodle soup. I think it's for the wife to test if there's anything she likes more than her mom's. Either way this place was her favorite on this trip. #TaiwaneseFood
