How does someone end up making a business based on 100% plagiarized material? It's not like they were evil geniuses who had a plan and committed to it until the money finally began pouring in. In fact, they were really dumb.
There were several hints pointing to the direction that they may not have any concept of truth. They are wired differently. They seem to think that words are inherently just fancy bullshit that all people constantly copy around (with superficial changes) to elicit emotional responses.
A very telling detail was how they altered facts, even numbers, probably in order to make the plagiarized material appear original. But why make the effort to change a NUMBER and just a little? It changes only the meaning but has no effect to the emotional response you get from the audience. It just doesn't make any sense at all if you believe that a specific number means something different than another number. If you care about meaning at all while trying to get away with minimal effort, you'd just try to change a word to its synonym or shuffle the word order.

While unconfirmed, #JamesSomerton has posted a suicide note on his locked Twitter account. There have been several attempts to reach out to him, seemingly none have succeeded. Lots of people are laying the blaming #HBomberGuy but I personally think this is unfair; Harry might have run the exposé, but the rest of the internet dogpiled without mercy. I sincerely hope we find James alive, but if not... We have to learn when to stop.

I have never read the Twilight books, nor watched the movies. Same for 50 Shades, so it was kind of a similar vibe for me as when the 4-hour hbomberguy video on plagiarism was released: I don't know any of the media that this is about, but now I have to watch this!
I watched the new Contrapoints video in batches, over the span of three days, so that was quite doable. I think it's great content in terms of providing jumping-off points to have reflections and conversations about certain topics that aren't easy to confront.
Also: I absolutely adore the set and costume design for this one, and the jokes made me literally LOL on the MRT!
