Railway planning friends! Say goodbye to drawing netgraphs with a graphic design software or Excel. One of my favorite internal tools at work is now available as open source software:
✏️ The Netgraph Editor
Draw your timetable concepts or ideas and share it with the community worldwide. Try it out here:

Made possible by #SBBCFFFFS, #GroupeSNCF and #OpenRailAssociation. Thanks Adrian, Martin and all the other colleagues involved! 🙏

I need some advise here. Getting a little dizzy of all the options in jailing systems around networks and access.
I use now appjail until I get the hang of it, not quite ready 😉
I can use a bridge with epairs / vnet / netgraph / a combination of some of them…
Dhcp on these option partially work, but not with all combinations.Bridges/epairs are working on a different server with bastillebsd….
But now to the basic question (I know, it’s my lack of basic network skills here speaking):
It is easy the autocreate jails on a subnet interface with a new range (say 10.0.0.0) apart from the normal lan (192.168.0.0). I can ping the jail on the host but not from the lan (obvious). What is the best option to make it works? And how? A practical example or link would help.

I’m liking what I’m reading so far ...
RACCT/RCTL, Netgraph, OCI support.

I like the fact that the BSDs are pretty stable platforms, rather than an amalgam of unrelated packages.
I'd like to try FreeBSD next. Also, Gentoo Linux.

I promised some data, and here it is!
I didn't record the actual sound unfortunately but you can see a massive discontinuity in the noise floor at just before 6 AM Pacific time (America/Los_Angeles) followed by highly unsettled noise floor conditions for the remainder of the day.
The next graph picks up again after midnight (and unfortunately stops just before 7 AM because the battery voltage got too low and my radio switched off). You can see the unsettled conditions start to simmer down again by about 5 AM.
This looks like it MAY have correlated with a solar flare that peaked at 7:55 AM Pacific (14:55 AM UTC). If so, it's a fascinating and unexpected result! I just wanted to chart the noise my local power company is making!

Call For Testing: Jailer v0.1.1
Well, it’s finally here! After a week of sleepless work, I cleaned up the Jailer codebase and added many features (and removed some as well!) that I wanted since last year 🙂
If you are reading this, please consider testing Jailer on FreeBSD. The codebase is at illuria/jailer.
The README.md should have all the info that you need to run Jailer.
If find any issues, please report to illuria/jailer/issues or you can email me personally at antranigv [at] freebsd [dot] am
Here’s the roadmap for what’s coming next
- Complete NetGraph support using jng.
- Jailerfile, which will be something similar to Dockerfile, allowing developers to create consistent images.
- jailerd and jailerctl, for remote jailer automation. This will be an open-source port of what illuria has already developed.
- Distributed Jailer, where jailerctl list will show not just what’s on a remote machine, but on a remote datacenter, inspired by Triton. Again, we have this at illuria, but we need to create an open-source port.
This release is dedicated to
- The FreeBSD community, because you helped me start a career.
- Michael Dexter, for being an amazing mentor.
- Norayr Chilingarian, for introducing me to UNIX when I was a teen.
- My SO, Syunetsi, for helping me to work a whole week without distractions and being next to me.
Thank you for reading 🙂
That’s all folks…

#DanielleSassoon also said #EmilBove had scolded a member of her team for taking notes during the meeting & ordered that the notes be collected at the meeting’s end.
Bove accepted Sassoon’s resignation in his own 8pg letter Thurs, in which he blasted her handling of the case & decision to disobey his order.
He told her the prosecutors who had worked on the case against #EricAdams were being placed on leave because they, too, were unwilling to obey his order.#law #Trump

#DanielleSassoon, in a remarkable letter addressed to AG #PamBondi, said #EmilBove’s order to dismiss the case was “inconsistent with my ability & duty to prosecute federal crimes without fear or favor & to advance good-faith arguments before the courts.”
“I have always considered it my obligation to pursue justice impartially, without favor to the wealthy or those who occupy important public office, or harsher treatment for the less powerful,” she said.
