The B-story of the issue shows Arron's origin story, saving a group of runaways& unhoused peoples forced into slave labour for Roxxon.
You gotta love a scrawny kid with a trashcan shield who won't stand down from a fight for what's right.
The whole issue is a read and the over-arching mystery of the main storyline already has me hooked. Sam is his hilariously cocky self& it's good to see him in the suit again. From what I've heard, we'll be seeing both Bucky and Walker suiting up as Caps as well. I'm really looking forward to meeting the other Captains in the network.
Personally, I've pre-ordered the omnibus hardcover of all 6 issues. You can support your local comic shop by buying the individual issues as well.
For those who don't have access to a LCS, or just want to read it NOW, a digital version can be found here: http://readallcomics.com/the-united-states-of-captain-america-001-2021/pg 2/2

#UnitedStatesOfCaptainAmerica 01I won't re-hash the hot garbage takes of a couple of B-list has-been 90's stars trying to regain relevance by going on Faux News to whine about something they haven't even read. I will remind people that Captain America has been political ever since he punched Hitler on the cover of his very first issue.
With that out of the way, this is a fantastic mystery and an exploration of America. The first six pages open with Steve Rogers pondering what he and his shield truly represent to others. "America has two dreams -and one lie."
Trying not to spoil plot points, Steve& Sam eventually encounter another Captain America, Aaron Fischer. A scrawny, spunky teen runaway who protects rail riders& LGBTQ+ runaways like himself. A champion of the unhoused& destitute. Aaron informs them of a loose 'network' of Captain Americas(or is it Captains America?) inspired to stand up for those who cannot.

Great interview, no real spoilers. Explains a few things like how COVID cut episode length& pushed one episode(of course it's the fun happy one we've all been waiting for🙄) into the next season, and how #ItsAllConnected in the end.The interview starts at the 8 min mark, enjoy!

Sometimes I don't know which is worst, the people who refuse to wear masks, the ones who wear them under their nose, or the ones who pull them down to talk.
We just entered Phase 3& people seem to think that means they don't have to follow proper procedures anymore.
We're currently down to 5 *confirmed cases countywide. I can't wait to see how long before we jump up in cases again. #SurroundedByIdiots

Screw the budget. I spent $100 on my team. Yes, I know that's more than the cost of everyone, but they left out all my :shield: Agents!

@QueenRamonda
Indeed. Too many have been lost for it to feel like a true victory.
Today, #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd
Tomorrow, police reforms to prevent more deaths.
Once police are held accountable for their actions, once they learn to properly de-escalate situations rather than automatically react with violence, once the racism in the system is eradicated, then, Peace. -
This is definitely something we should be calling, texting& writing our MoCs about!

#KeepTalkingCommunication is one of our greatest skills, and talking can often help decrease stress and depression. To often we bottle things up, thinking that our feelings and worries would be 'bothersome' or unimportant' to others or 'it will just bring people down'. Sometimes it's hard to talk to people, even those we care about -but that's when we need it the most.
"For millions of years, mankind lived just like the animals. Then something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination. We learned to talk."
Pink Floyd - Keep Talking (Official Lyrics Video)

Oh, you mean her occasional my vote won't actually affect the outcome either way so my party is allowing me to vote with Dems for the sake of appearances vote. I call that her PR vote.
Her other classic is the VanPelt vote - where she spends days& weeks wringing her hands, clutching her pearls& making wish-washy sound bites that make it seem like she'll vote against party -until the votes are counted.
I think these are the only two moves Susan has, though I'd love to see Massachusetts voters teach her a new one- #GTFO

I've only been a #ElectionWorker for the last two years, but have found it to be a fun and positive experience.
Just before I started, my county had switched from the big heavy Voter Rolls books to sleek, fast, light & secure PolPads.
Some older voters balk at signing in digitally, but the veteran workers all agree they're way better!
I'm looking forward to returning next year!(Also, our county leads send us trivia ?s throughout the day& I've won treats for my fellow workers every time, lol)
-
My Mum sent me this earlier& asked me to share it with any other Election Workers I know. #ElectionWorker

@yuhline
I'm a NYS #ElectionWorker so I'll be at my local site at 530 to set up before doors open, then spend the day checking voters in, handing out ballots(and stickers), and finally tearing down after polls close& going home to watch Kornacki, lol. -
@Leefromphilly
Lee, Is this your first time as an #ElectionWorker ?
I'm in the midst of my 2nd year as an Election Inspector. My experiences have been mostly positive& I've enjoyed helping people. You will likely have other seasoned vets working alongside you if you get nervous or have questions. You got this! -
It's that time of year for me again!
#ElectionWorker training day!
It's not too late to contact your local Board of Elections and sign up! -
#MidtermElections are exactly two months away! If you've ever thought about becoming an #ElectionWorker this is a great time to sign up!
Many states have already begun scheduling training sessions for new and returning workers. (I just got my reminder letter in the mail today!)
The US Elections Assistance Commission has a handy dandy state-by-state lookup tool to find information on being a poll worker in your community, including requirements, hours, pay, training, and more. Links are provided so you can sign up directly with your state or local election office!
#HelpAmericaVote -
Many states are facing #ElectionWorker shortages due to COVID. You can help out by signing up with your state Board of Elections. Training is provided as well as pay for days worked. I just signed up for my training& look forward to it!
