@jerry why do you think #EMuskovy bought #Twitter and then fired anyone who could throttle his ability to create the worlds most efficient disinformation machine? Imagine what this guy will do with this kind of capability to influence popular opinion and hence election results, financial markets etc. All while using individual’s addiction to social exposure/interactions so that they pay for it with money, content and connections… He’s betting on everyone’s gullibility.

@mastodonmigration guess there will be no copyright claims for generative AI training on tweets! Who still thinks #EMuskovy unpaid for #Twitter ? Just something to think about for those still using that #SnakePit
-
@Cloudguy @Roundtrip 100% and #EMuskovy no doubt understood that value when going into the purchase. He wants people to think he’s a blundering idiot for overpaying and then destroying the platform but in reality he’s likely disassembling/reassembling the platform to serve his own ends namely - manipulating elections (to avoid regulation in his businesses) and financial markets (to build his fleet of rockets) and he needs to brainwash an army of people ready to take a one way trip to Mars!
-
@notwhatwethink indeed but #EMuskovy is a dangerous dude with big ideas and a strategic lead on big chunks of critical leading edge tech and fully controls one of the most powerful social media platform’s in existence…oh and don’t forget his WW Satellite ISP!
-
@notwhatwethink thought you were talking about #EMuskovy until the last line but fits the other a-hole as well…
-
@jeffjarvis I’ve been predicting that #EMuskovy bought #Twitter specifically to set up the worlds most sophisticated misinformation machine that will be powered by #AIChatbots to do his personal bidding to manipulate financial markets and influence elections. Each day I watch this guy in action I become more convinced that I am right… truly scary!
-
@HilliTech if not yet then soon I expect. I predict #EMuskovy will unleash some type of #ChatGPT BOT army to influence financial markets and elections. You thought Russian troll farms were bad, you ain’t seen nothing yet! We really need all the responsible adults to get off that platform soon…
-
@dangillmor users with large follower counts (most zombie/BOTs) their “vanity index” are “addicted” to their “perceived/actual reach”. This is exactly what #EMuskovy is counting on to hold things together while he builds his own PERSONAL “disinformation machine” that can be used to manipulate election results and financial markets without any interference from pesky employees or independent researchers.
-
@TheConversationUS seems to be failing on both counts- “free speech’” and as a “business”. However what if his real goal was to create the most powerful PERSONALLY CONTROLLED misinformation machine ever seen? #EMuskovy is dangerous…
-
@dwl @Gargron good question! I believe that serious journalists should consider this question as well. Regardless of their organization’s stance because #EMuskovy is very likely to fully weaponize that platform during next year’s election cycle. Now is the time to get setup in the #Fediverse so as not to be part of that “s..t show”.
-
@samlitzinger @sanjaysharma it’s the vanity trap. They don’t want to give up potential reach as measured by follower counts (certainly many are bots/trolls). This is what #EMuskovy is betting on to keep enough eyeballs on that platform so that he can use it as a disinformation machine to serve his purposes.
-
@caseynewton these individuals are more attached to their perceived reach (based on the number of followers) than to the integrity of their craft. They are giving air to the cesspool #EMuskovy is creating instead of letting it die. This is exactly what he is betting $44B on, that he can keep enough vain “influencers” around to keep enough eyeballs engaged while he brings his disinformation machine to life so he can wield a “digital sledgehammer”to serve his purposes.
-
@icevislab @Gargron there’s still many people who are reluctant to give up their addiction to big follower counts but that unfortunately is exactly what #EMuskovy is betting on. That platform is being turned into a #FoxOfSocialMedia snake pit used by one man and his backers/friends to sew discord and control the narrative for their own purposes. That’s why #TwitterMustDie
-
@PopovaProf why are people still using that platform.it’s a snake pit for purveyors of disinfo thanks to #EMuskovy
-
@maxboot is there also an estimate on how many have been kidnapped/forcibly relocated? Unbelievably tragic, especially since these people have already suffered so many times before. No wonder they are resolved! #SlavaUcraine
-
@SeanCasten it seems like America is being “looted, pillaged, raped and plundered” by the very people who are claiming it was being done by others!
This mirroring/projection is SOP for how Russia always operates.
Do you see the pattern yet?
I like what #Kasparov calls it, the #PutinizationOfAmerica
-
@noelreports this is bad news since this is exactly what Putin had predicted. Wear the west down…
Of course, getting the “orange one” elected was also key part of his plan to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
The west should have FULLY supported Ukraine while it had the chance. Very sad…
-
@randahl @briankrebs call your representatives THIS WEEK, both in congress and the senate and urge full support for Ukraine which is support for liberty, democracy and rule of law.
#UkraineMustWin -
Still marveling at Joe Biden’s selfless decision almost a week later. I believe Joe helped save our democracy once when he ran and beat Trump in 2020 and now possibly for a second time by his decision to pass the torch to Kamala Harris. #GoKamala #SaveDemocracy #VoteBlue #Freedom

@GottaLaff it’s inevitable. If only we could have gotten more reliable people out of that snake pit sooner…
-
@dimillian would be great to have an open source alternative to Spaces for the fediverse. Come on Thomas hook up JAM to IceCubes and let’s get more people to leave that snake pit.
-
@asymco AMEN #TwitterMustDie
What a tragic legacy he is creating for himself:
LOST respect of many who thought he was making real contributions
KILLING ALL his various brands
LOSING some very talented employees
ALIENATING business leaders/politiciansHow will it END?
Is he a modern day Howard Hughes who rather than withdraw into his own private world does a fully public -
RUD (Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly)?!!
-
@GottaLaff anyone care to guess how many millions more in lost revenue before he fires his CEO?
#TwitterMustDie -
@w7voa there is nothing much to say but…
#TwitterMustDie -
@AVindman subscribed! Thanks Alex, we need to hear your voice here (Mastodon) as well…
-
@atrupar @GottaLaff it’s been my opinion from the beginning that his main purpose of buying the platform was to influence our next election cycle by “unleashing the dogs”. I would say that almost every move has been to dismantle the guardrails and flush out the potential whistleblowers. So he and his “backers” can insure the US democracy is crippled and he and his “billionaire bro’s” have a autocrat in the WH that will let them do whatever they want with no regulation or taxes…
