@HilliTech haven’t tried it but my guess is there will be (or are) versions (not publicly available) much better at generating plausible BS that can fool a global public into swallowing whatever narrative #EMuskovy and his fascist authoritarian “friends/partners” are trying to perpetrate. Who needs a troll farm when you can spin up armies of digital bots to spread and promote disinformation and no staff is left to whistleblow on you and no external researchers can call you out.. #TwitterMustDie

@TechDesk who needs a troll farm when the guy who owns the platform has his very own LLM that can spew out all sorts of disinformation/false narratives using a “free/unlimited” army of fake accounts (that all have blue check marks of course) and he’s fired everyone who could be a potential whistle blower and handicapped external researchers from monitoring what he’s doing (by limiting API access) to manipulate public opinion? #SayIt #TwitterMustDie

@jerry why do you think #EMuskovy bought #Twitter and then fired anyone who could throttle his ability to create the worlds most efficient disinformation machine? Imagine what this guy will do with this kind of capability to influence popular opinion and hence election results, financial markets etc. All while using individual’s addiction to social exposure/interactions so that they pay for it with money, content and connections… He’s betting on everyone’s gullibility.

@HilliTech if not yet then soon I expect. I predict #EMuskovy will unleash some type of #ChatGPT BOT army to influence financial markets and elections. You thought Russian troll farms were bad, you ain’t seen nothing yet! We really need all the responsible adults to get off that platform soon…

@dangillmor users with large follower counts (most zombie/BOTs) their “vanity index” are “addicted” to their “perceived/actual reach”. This is exactly what #EMuskovy is counting on to hold things together while he builds his own PERSONAL “disinformation machine” that can be used to manipulate election results and financial markets without any interference from pesky employees or independent researchers.

@TheConversationUS seems to be failing on both counts- “free speech’” and as a “business”. However what if his real goal was to create the most powerful PERSONALLY CONTROLLED misinformation machine ever seen? #EMuskovy is dangerous…

@dwl @Gargron good question! I believe that serious journalists should consider this question as well. Regardless of their organization’s stance because #EMuskovy is very likely to fully weaponize that platform during next year’s election cycle. Now is the time to get setup in the #Fediverse so as not to be part of that “s..t show”.

@samlitzinger @sanjaysharma it’s the vanity trap. They don’t want to give up potential reach as measured by follower counts (certainly many are bots/trolls). This is what #EMuskovy is betting on to keep enough eyeballs on that platform so that he can use it as a disinformation machine to serve his purposes.

@caseynewton these individuals are more attached to their perceived reach (based on the number of followers) than to the integrity of their craft. They are giving air to the cesspool #EMuskovy is creating instead of letting it die. This is exactly what he is betting $44B on, that he can keep enough vain “influencers” around to keep enough eyeballs engaged while he brings his disinformation machine to life so he can wield a “digital sledgehammer”to serve his purposes.

@rebekahtromble @intelwire it appears #EMuskovy does not want researchers to have visibility in how #Twitter is being used/abused. Now you need the be a nation state, large corp or criminal entity that can afford to “pay to play” in order to exploit the sheep who have decided to stay and are willlling to be fleeced in order to have more followers (most of which are bots/trolls)! What a sad joke…

@icevislab @Gargron there’s still many people who are reluctant to give up their addiction to big follower counts but that unfortunately is exactly what #EMuskovy is betting on. That platform is being turned into a #FoxOfSocialMedia snake pit used by one man and his backers/friends to sew discord and control the narrative for their own purposes. That’s why #TwitterMustDie
