I get the most petty satisfaction at using papers I disagree with as literal fuel for the fire in my wood stove.

Did I make my mileage? No.
Did I hit my pace goals? No.
Did I run my weekly plan? No.When there were 45 mins left to the day, and I had the choice, did I put on my kit, make it work, and do enough to play the long game?
Fuck yes.
7 down. 54 to go.

One of my US Naval Academy classmates has written a book with a former colleague about how to lead in a culture where fear is stronger than hope. I'm expecting much of the book is centered on their experience as former Tesla employees.
I've preordered two copies, one for me, and one to donate to my rural library who is staring down the IMLS grant cuts.

Day 25 of #RunAmanda was thankfully soggy but not impassable.
Thank you #VPR for your flooding and local reporting on emergency actions and support.

We can't call them 100 year floods anymore 💔

Does anyone in #rollerderby have access to #IndigenousRising or #BlackDiaspora's statements on #BOTAS who can repost to the Fediverse?

Thanks to octoPI (and one specific geneticist's desire to understand what happened with her own body) - we now know what causes #MorningSickness
Dr. Marlena Fejzo should be recognized widely for the discoveries she has made and how this will save lives.

My alarm goes off when it's still dark, so that my brain can wake up a bit before the morning family routines. Sometimes I open Mastodon, just to glance through for any big news to start the day.
This morning, I was immediately riveted in place by @vicki's keynote on "Build and keep your context window."
Vicki expertly weaves together multiple concepts across literature, social science, history, engineering, and familiar concepts for "data people".
