Just helped middle kid buy new roller skates so she can go skating with me and her older sister. Hurrah! We're back to ten years ago when all the kids used to come to roller derby training with me :) (except now we'll just be doing park skating and rolling around basketball courts).

It’s crazy-making that #Apple doesn't have a built in #inlineskate or #rollerskate workout in #AppleFitness! They should either add their own version or buy the moribund #iSkate app and roll it into Fitness. Maybe now that #barbiemovie is out we’ll finally see it happen? Unsolicited #RollerSkate advice I'm not going to heap upon unsuspecting skaters here, so you get to read them.
1. Bend your knees. Bend your knees. Bend your knees!
2. Watch where you're going, not your feet. Head up, chest up, knees bent!
3. Start with simple bubble/watermelon moves where you don't have to lift your feet until you feel more comfortable.
This concludes this installment of things I want to gently suggest to the new skaters here.

Can’t help but laugh at the fact that 20 years ago I was certain you needed a complicated training program including tracking your calories and nutrition to build muscle and get fit. Turns out all I needed was #RollerSkate dance and to sign up for a #PoleDancing class.
My diet is essectively making sure I eat actual meals everyday and don’t go hungry.

I’m a #trans mom working in #tech since I was 17 and do a whole lot of #rollerskate #dance in my spare time and love teaching it. If you’re in #Europe and go to the jams we may have met as I try to hit all the big ones.
I’ve worked on #AWS for so long it is my specialty and every new service just looks like several other services bundled together.
Also I’m so sick of working in tech and look forward to escaping into the forest. -
