  1. I have a

I freely admit to being a member of & don't quite grok the entirety here but I've noticed something close to universal and maybe everyone else is just used to it, so accepts it

Long are the norm here. It's considered polite and good practice

So why can I only find one that takes that into account? Every other one I have tried gives a pathetic one or two line edit area

    It's a nightmare on a phone
    🤔

  2. @catselbow Tusky is the best one I've found for this so far. There are some quirks with scrolling but there is room for 2-3 *additional* edit lines.

Adding those would be a quantum jump in usability. And the quality of as well

  3. And this is Ellie. And her incredible ears!

(I got in trouble with my daughter when I said her schnozz was longer 😂)

If I had grabbed a reflector to fill the light on the right side of her face this would have been even better.

  4. Now it's time for the introduction to Forest.

He won't back down and will decimate her nose if she gets much closer

She's so confused. It looks like my cat but smells all wrong!

  5. I actually prefer it when you *bite* my head.

  6. My daughter brought Ellie over again today to see Ben. He adores Ellie!

She knows he can't move around so she'll stay by him and play without running away. That's pretty good for such a young active dog. Ben is ecstatic when another dog will do that!!

    Someone to wrestle with!

    Bite your head!!

  7. A quick shared joke before we leave....

Until we come back on Monday to see his other bestest buddy. But he doesn't know that yet.

  8. Ben's reaction when he realised that we were actually going *into* the vet today. And that he would get to visit.

They spoil him rotten and there are two very special people to Ben in there. To the point that we regularly just go in to visit. No other reason.

So he figures one of them just might be there. Or is counting on it. 🤣

  9. I think the best plant stakes I have are these ones scavenged from a collapsed gazebo! 👍

  10. @alpenglow I really like this!

It reminds me a lot of the quick test jigs we used to build in the 80-90's. Except substitute jigsaw, drill and Sharpies for the laser cutter 😃

It also reminds me of this scoreboard that I scavenged from because it intrigued me when I saw it. 😂

  11. @jrconlin this is now your fault! 😂

(referring to the PVC conduit not Ben and his stroller 😄)

I could have likely walked by this 'free to grab' end of the driveway temptation if I hadn't seen your post before the stroller tour!

Nah. Who am I kidding? I would have grabbed it anyway 🤣

  12. Today's episode of

I guess I now have a buffing wheel once I replace the degraded AC plug and put on a new disc 😄

Even better, the lawn chair just visible to the right was a result of yesterday's scavenging efforts 😂

  13. What my neighbor saw:

His old, now useless to him electric trailer tongue leveler/stand

    What I saw:

12VDC, very high payload, 9-12 inch throw linear actuator

Which I'm sure I can build something with. But currently have no idea what that might be

    🤔🤔🤔

  14. @catselbow it's the same way we become the family/friend computer repair person.

In my case also local BBQ consultant, 'dog whisperer', smarthome, 'I'm buying new electronics' guy...

In return though, they know of my thing so they'll generally send me a picture of something 'interesting' before they 🗑️ it

Also let their immediate neighbors know about it. I found a way to selectively make the garbage come to me 😂

And two of my neighbors do home renovation for a living.

  15. I'm sitting beside another project from last year. This involved some serious transformation rather than being more 'found items' like my previous use of the tag.

Made four 6 foot by 3 foot raised beds from a pair of fence gates someone was throwing out. Just enough wood (by design). I only had to provide long wood screws and battery charges for the hand tools.

  16. Ben doesn't like the day before . His long stroller ride/walk is delayed until optimal foraging time.

Late enough that people have put things out, early enough that the pros in the pickup trucks haven't stripped all the good stuff! 😄

  17. I can use that!

It's always the plastic clip that fails first.

  18. Jonathan and Martha Kent find crashed spaceship containing a dead alien child in rural USA.

  19. We all have our issues. I'm honest about it anyway.

  20. Thought

What will I unleash on the fediverse by putting the following content in a toot?

    #<emoji> (ie. (#)😜 for example?)

A search using the example shows nothing in and the Web UX client.

    New Neat 💡?

    or

    Fediverse-shaking 💥💥💥💥?

    Hmmm...

    😜

  21. CW: Hive vs Twitter vs Mastodon

@fearian change has to occur. The size of is overwhelming what used to be a small relatively private (geek factor) community.

Instances could be topic focused. I don't think that's really possible now.

That smaller community used Twitter in slightly different ways, for slightly different purposes than here. But Mastodon looks really, really close.

If only... This is reflected in the many UX complaints, etc.

    ....

  22. I'm really liking @sengi_app on Wn10 a *lot*

If I can resolve a couple of things that are likely PBKAC I think I have my Win10 app.

You have to poke quite a bit to discover everything and to the it may be hard to *grok* what you're seeing and the purpose

But it may be worth the time invested if you are going through 'app cycling' like I am right now

I think I can build a good workflow using this. 👍

  23. @benjaminhollon have a boost in revenge 😄

I find the people I'm following too interesting/funny/weird/... not to boost.

I'm also a member of so 'this here thing' is the latest shiney having my attention.

But if I find a new shiney? Who am I gonna be telling about it? I'll give you zero guesses!

And 'this here thing' is inducing the impulse to go look for it!

Essentially you're doomed. Recommend Unfollow and Block.

  24. @kev thank you. That clears it up and I know what the 🎁 I got is.

I just wanted to help support and once I was done that, it was mission accomplished.

Then after a while, it occurred to me that it might help the admins as well, so it's something I should do.

As a member of , I don't feel competent enough to help in discussions like that yet.

Yet. I'm extremely comfortable and welcomed and I have *thoughts* 😄

Using the above hashtag because it's about change. All around.
