  1. I've done the right thing and it's going to cause pain.

#Gentoo Distribution Kernel configs are now hosted entirely on git.gentoo.org rather than GItHub. If you don't use Gentoo mirrors, you may be hitting 502s thanks to our LLM overlords now. If you use Gentoo mirrors, you may be hitting 404s if they hit 502s while trying to fetch from our Infra 🤷.

  2. Ugh trying to get #VSCodium to have a functioning integrated shell on #Bazzite without doing stuff to ostree seems impossible.

Maybe immutable #Linux isn't good for me.

Is there a #Gentoo based distro where Steam works as seamlessly?

  3. New updates from PineTab-V Gentoo

I was able to compile and run smoothly LibreOffice and NetSurf on PineTab-V!

These are great news! Gentoo's support for RISC-V is super magnificent!

    Cheers,
    André Machado

  4. TIL (Today I Learned) that the Linux distribution Gentoo is named after a species of penguins.

Also, the Gentoo penguin is apparently the fastest-swimming penguin.

  5. Building fresh #Gentoo SD images for two Raspberry Pi Zero 2W nodes to test Torlando Tech's #Reticulum BLE transport using BlueZ/GATT. Goal: validate stable peer transport over #BLE, then migrate the Python implementation into a C++ transport/interface layer for microReticulum while preserving the articulated BLE protocol semantics. Interesting intersection of embedded Linux, GATT, and Reticulum.

  8. Also is on ? I just created an account there, had no idea this project existed. It's great.

  9. Think I've gone through 4 kernel updates in a week (7.0.4-7) on Gentoo and Slackware. All went without any notable hitch. We should be grateful and happy with such responsible and dedicated maintainers among us 👍🏻 I certainly am 🙏🏻

  13. It's difficult to grasp, perhaps. But that you build your own dwm, and just schlepp it around with you, remains unbeatable.

  17. So I had to use #KDE (i.e. floating window management) today and while it's not as terrible as #windows, I f***** cannot stand it anymore. I don't find my windows, I don't have easy hotkeys (ok that one is on me obviously) and overall my workflow just isn't intuitive.

    Ehm... help, I guess? 😅

  18. These days new vulnerabilities are found faster in kernels than I can manage to build patched kernels for #Gentoo.
