"...the ecological and climate crises show that endless GDP growth on a finite planet is a dangerous illusion. What is required now is a transformation of the values and institutions that underpin economic life.
Transformation becomes more plausible in moments of crisis"

Even averaging LSOAs (lower super output area) over districts can hide local variation.

(LSOAs represent about the same number of people but low-density LSOAs can appear larger than high-density LSOAs.)

  11. @ChrisMayLA6 I think you are absolutely right. Part of the problem is , that the political parties often argue the same way: “Vote for us, if you don’t want that!”. Why? Because it’s winning the next election. It is apparently a self supporting process, as at the same time, a party with a clear positive vision and message gets pushed aside. All over #europe we see even more unstable #governments and even faster cycles of #elections. In German we call it a #Teufelskreis or “Devils Circle”

  15. @ChrisMayLA6 'More testing' does far more (permanent) damage to #ActuallyAutistc children than just 'suck[ing] the joy out of education.'

It's worth noting that places which are actually good at education, like Finland, do no standardised testing AT ALL.

It's child abuse; it should be banned.

  21. @ChrisMayLA6 I'm not sure about it being a "much bigger" factor. #Fiscal #policy does have an impact, & I'm inclined to believe it's greater than that of #monetary policy. It's also very clear that, in the absence of any intention to reverse #Brexit, #Labour will be imposing further #austerity on the most vulnerable members of our #society, which is the exact opposite of what the #LabourParty ought to be doing.
