  6. Got an @adafruit microsd card reader to work on the @Raspberry_Pi Pico W using #CircuitPython. Looks like it’ll work well for giving our robots more of a voice. Have to order a bunch of these card readers for class. Will share a lesson video when ready. #BCPhysComp

The more I think about what the best next step for could be, the more I believe implementing some decentralised protocol to exchange info would be super useful: what is more decentralised than a bunch of personal servers people can physically bring around with them? 🙂

For this reason, I find any effort into implementing parts of on small devices super interesting!

What are your thoughts about it?

  8. Got another from @adafruit … it’s an early Xmas gift … err … important component needed for “work” 🤓

  9. @Medus4 @1dark1 @JeremySCook @adafruit @pimoroni @protonmail

I may have added stickers on the Getac 😂
Small stickers that fit well aren't always easy to find, but one from #yeswehack fits well, and complemented by a few small ones from #pimoroni and #redbubble.
Now I wonder if I add some on the palm rest too…

  10. For #makers looking for alternatives to #Adafruit - if you consider "the Chinese" who make similar stuff as a collection of independent small/medium family businesses (even if their kit is sold via Amazon, Ebay etc), who share a collection of common designs often making use of end of line / surplus components, which is much more the case than the "yellow peril" paranoia about them trying to "take over the world" there is plenty of good stuff to be found these days..

All the "maker friendly" companies like #Arduino seem to have enshittified anyway, so you might as well buy Chinese (they are going to be making the components you use no matter which company you might get part of fully assembled modules from)

  11. Updated the awesome-list for the #Adafruit #MacroPad this morning (just in case you may have got one for Christmas!) Especially check out the MacroPad Hotkeys II project by DeckerEgo, it's my new favorite: github.com/prcutler/awesome-ma

  12. I got the restock email yesterday that Adafruit added more #FruitJam to the store. There are still 60+ available this morning as of this writing: adafruit.com/product/6200 #CircuitPython

  13. I got these 40mm speakers from Adafruit. I haven't heard them yet; no idea how tinny they'll sound. The mounting mechanism is simple and effective. The speaker slips right in, but is hard to get out. The edge slot is more than 180°, so the opening is narrowed.

While I'm kvetching about filament, that red print is Inland PLA+. Great stuff, kind of flexible, good layer adhesion.
