What I'm doing is very small. more ideas:
1. Don't show servers not open for new users on joinmastodon.
2. Recommend servers that run other variants, (#hometown #misskey ...) too.
3. Existing trusted members on servers could give out invites that skip screening-- wait lists suck.
4. Turn off the beeps by default on mastodon web app.
