    Hey everyone!

    I'm pretty excited to announce an Alpha testing release of my new app Terpoir. I need some early testers to try and get this thing approved for the Play Store.     What's Terpoir, you ask?

    Terpoir is a private, on-device journal for adults who use legal cannabis.
    Users record each session (products, amounts, method, time) and how they
    felt afterwards. It is a personal self-tracking journal, not a medical app.

    Terpoir is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or
    prevent any condition.
    It gives no medical advice or dosing recommendations, and reminds users to consult a healthcare professional, in the app and the listing.
    All health-related entries stay encrypted on the device; there is no account or server, and none of this data is collected by the developer or shared.
    It reads no sensors and does not use Health Connect.

    I don't like it. It gives me The Ick.

    But if this was even remotely successful, there's plenty of unscrupulous folk that'd love to start from what I did and immediately try to get their bit. Which just kind of ruins things for everyone, yeah?

    I'm not opposed to competition, but this was easy enough that you really should just start from scratch. Besides, the whole damn thing isn't copyrightable. Trust me, I'm not doing a whole lot other than coming up with the idea and guiding Claude.

    I agree. This doesn't receive copyright.

    Where I'm going with this is that I've always wanted an easy way to keep track (besides in memory) of how different kinds of weed affect me.

    Reading #TIHKAL / #PIHKAL in my 20s gave me an excellent foundation for philosophizing about psychedelics.

    Does sativa/indica/hybrid mean anything at all?

    Does the terpene profile affect my mood or subjective experience?

    So this weekend I used Claude to plan and design the whole thing.

    It's a privacy-first approach to journaling your experiences.
    You can opt in to using a lot of convenient corporate services, or you can keep your info super duper private.
    No matter what, the data is encrypted with a key that you control.

    If you wanna go YOLO, it's capable of using Google maps and a few other things. I'm still aiming to keep things as private as I can. I'll be publishing to #fdroid as well, and the repo is public. If I can make enough money on Google Play (and maybe Apple too) to cover the work in trademark and legal fees it's a win.

    I'm coming at this with as much transparency as I can, cause that's something I value. I've been a long time consumer of FOSS, I truly believe in free software. I do however live in a soulless capitalist society, and also want to live to see my kids grown. I deserve to be able to live and succeed at something I'm passionate about: understanding your body and the relationship with psychedelics. Make sense?

    I know there's plenty of people out there that are gonna have plenty of reasons why I'm a fucking idiot. Some of them are probably correct.

    Gosh.

    It's almost like there's a system in place that forces many Americans to continue working regardless of what's going on in the world.

    It's almost like maybe Americans aren't ignoring the insanity or failing to fight back as much as we exist in a system where the necessary space to dissent/protest has been systematically removed.
    One debt at a time.

    Time to socialize their assets? AI for the people, by the people?
    Surely if it's as magical as claimed then general social benefit is a net win even if they're bankrupt?
