@rob_corneliusI was heartbroken and changed forever in Durham during the miners' strike by them selling their possessions for food. I never thought former mining, steel & shipbuilding communities would vote #Tory, then they did in 2019.
This was #Blair's legacy. #Labour had 13 years in which to regenerate the communities trashed by #Thatcher but didn't. Then they were seduced by #Brexit sirens into blaming immigration. Next #ToryStarmer will repeat.

@GreenFire I'm unlucky that my home built in 2019 has #MainsGas. The developers were cheapskates & installed a gas boiler for the #CentralHeating & a gas hob for cooking. I've installed #solar panels & batteries but I'm paid less per kWh of electricity exported than I pay per kWh of gas imported. Most new properties in my area are not on the gas main & have a #GroundSourceHeatPump installed from new. Without a #GovernmentScheme a #HeatPump conversion is unaffordable to me. #UK is maddening.

That Musk accidentally did good by enabling this #FarRightBigot to blow his cover & get arrested by the authorities for alleged crimes related to his toxic masculinity was a priceless moment of joy in the otherwise dreary decline of discourse on the bird site. I milked it there but not here. I appreciate the qualitative differences between the sites.

#ThisIsFine. I managed to slash my electricity use by 7/8 and my gas by 1/3 but my #EnergyBill is still more than last year even with the price caps. I could afford this if I were paid a fair price for electricity I export but I am paid just 1/5 of the import charge. #ItIsAScam
