Thank you to everyone who has bought my music and/or donated via Bandcamp to help me start to get this mobility aid paid for. I still have a lot of debt around this I'd like to retire. There will not be another #BandcampFriday until August. So if you can spare it and want to help a disabled senior musician roll along, do it today before 11:59pm US Pacific time. * see reply
Celebrate #LaborDay by helping disabled workers screwed by intertwined systems of oppression.

@meganL @ai6yr
Anyone who’s ever seen a #CriticalMass bike event completely clear block after block of city streets in seconds for an emergency vehicle will never look at an ambulance struggling through an intersection in the same way -

It's been like herding cats trying to get the several Mastodonians attending #Spezi to find a common time to meet up so it hasn't happened so far.
Does anyone want to meet outside before the show tomorrow to have breakfast?

@meganL #Nashville needs a pied-a-terre tax to keep real-estate prices from sky-rocketing. #TaxDay

@meganL #MotorNormativity for people talking about transport policy and #CarBrain .
#UrbanCycling for cycling in towns and cities, usually for transport purposes.
#CyclingUK for cycling in the UK (and presumably for what was previously the CTC).
#Coffeeneuring for folks who #AlwaysBeCoffeeneuring or who are taking part in the annual challenge (ride a bike 7 times at least 2 miles and have a beverage).
Have also seen #SustainableTransport , although that's not cycling specific.

@meganL nice! We used the rock face under a bridge arch in an old railway cutting when the #JoyRide did a film showing.
Can heartily recommend bike-in movies!

My daughter who lives in Brooklyn, NY, bought a Swedish princess cake from Aquavit for her birthday last week. I asked her if they also had semlor, but they don't start selling them until Feb 15.
Disclaimer: I'm not related to #MarcusSamuelsson, but I am a big fan.

That's cool. I have a very similar adapter for my EV car, but it goes the other way, with a male type-2 connector going to the car and a female European 240V "Schuko" outlet. Useful if you want to charge from someone's V2L equipped car on the road. The modern equivalent of siphoning, I guess.

@meganL @fedibikes @bikenite I don't know if they're experiencing business problems, but after a period of silence and some webpage issues I noticed that they appear to be back and emailing again with deals. #YubaBikes #Yuba

@meganL “the brain is activated” is pseudoscience but idk if it’s a language barrier thing. The rest is cool tho!
People do definitely look at me differently and act more standoffish on days I use my cane(s).
I’d definitely use the Alinker, if only for the speed increase and storage options! 😻

Randomly I notice today is St. Irma Dulce of the Poor’s birthday! (1914) 🎂She worked with the “poorest of the poor” in her convent in a chicken yard in Salvador, Bahia #Brazil
Raising money busking with her #Accordion!
Look up 🪗 in NE 🇧🇷 & find fantastic #baião & #forro rhythms so I’d love to have heard her play
Sainted in 2019 ❤️🔥🪗
And here’s a photo of the shrine/museum with her actual accordion!

@meganL I'm glad we are openly discussing #ableism in #workplaces & how it affects #PeopleWithDisabilities here though! We can't get more progressive changes if people aren't aware of the challenges & #discrimination #disabled people experience in many different workplaces.

@linguacelta @meganL To add to this a bit: when I add #sashiko patches I also reinforce with a bit of fabric on the back. Fusible interfacing is very convenient, but I found it's even easier to just use a light dab of some (textile) glue to temporarily hold the patch in place while I sew over it.
It dries quickly enough and holds the patch in place fine. And it'll wash right out, at least after a few times. Though honestly I've never felt any glue when wearing the garments.
