CSC in Finland and Nepal Research and Education Network (NREN) officially kicked off a 6-month collaboration focused on expanding #eduroam coverage, developing REN awareness materials, and building long-term ties.
The two teams will visit each other later this year, with Nepal joining the global R&E community at #TNC26 in Helsinki in June.
We can't wait to see what you build together.

Can a 600-year-old astronomical clock go digital?
Prague’s Old Town Astronomical Clock now exists in digital form, thanks to CESNET, Prague City Tourism and st.dio.
Using photogrammetry, manual modelling, and procedural generation of repetitive parts, the team created a fully kinematic 3D model.

This week, we joined the #RTISummit2025 in Copenhagen to highlight the role of GÉANT and our #NREN community in supporting research and innovation across Europe.
We were part of a joint booth together with the European e-Infrastructures Assembly: EGI Foundation, EUDAT, @OpenAIRE, & PRACE, showcasing how we work together to support European research, education, and innovation.

#Sectigo wirft #GÉANT in marketing mails eine unfaire Darstellung der Situation vor, die zur einseitigen und vorzeitigen Kündigung der Verträge geführt hatte. Sie führen einerseits finanzielle Gründe auf, was sicher auch stimmen kann, behaubten aber in einem verlinkten PDF später folgendes:
"Our decision to step away from GÉANT was guided by our responsibility to remain in full compliance with the CA/Browser Forum Baseline Requirements, as well as the
root program policies established by major browser and operating system vendors, [...]"Spannende Formulierung. GÉANT hätte also, laut Sectigos Darstellung hier, mit ihrer fortlaufenden Nutzung der Sectigo Dienstleistungen gegen CA Richtlinien verstoßen? Oder Sectigo dazu genötigt, das zu tun? Da wäre ich wirklich mal an den Details interessiert. Anyone?

Connecting in Berlin with @DFN 🇩🇪
GÉANT team gained valuable insight into DFN’s 40+ years of enabling science for 2.5M+ users, and met designated co-CEO Alina Hain ahead of her start in October.
Followed by discussions on DFN’s role as an #NREN & its vision for GÉANT’s future.
Lise Fuhr: “The visit offered a perfect opportunity to learn about DFN’s rich history & future priorities, and how they see GÉANT evolving. These insights are crucial as we shape the future of the Association together.”
