I saw someone saying they're done with all modern media due to the emergence of AI slop and (while I get it) I think that's the wrong philosophy for our current moment.
In an era of endless "content", the fact we are faced with is that "death of the author" style thinking is no longer valid.
We *have to* consider the human being who made the thing today. We ought to follow the work for human artists and creators who we respect and who respect us. We shouldn't give our time or money to the fakes and frauds who deceive and exploit others for a quick buck.
Industrialized pop media may be dead once and for all, but subculture will certainly continue to thrive if people give a damn.
We all have the agency to put the emphasis back on #humanity, and we should.
