  1. What's an unusual word that you've come across in two or more of your editing projects? I'll start: arcology.

  2. Vermont Public is having their winter membership drive and offering a very Vermont-appropriate sweepstakes. The winner will receive four snow tires.

  3. Went to Replay Arts in White River Junction on Saturday. They are a craft thrift store offering everything from yarn, and fabric to computer parts, books and more. Such a cool store. I got everything in the first photo, plus a graphics card, for $15. So glad the Upper Valley has this resource.

  4. I got back from a lovely trip to the Crystal Coast in North Carolina. We stopped for a day in Richmond, VA, on the way down.

While there, we stopped at Bargain Books Richmond and I got a bunch of cool books. I could have stayed there for hours and gotten way more books. I found a binder filled with accessory patterns. I love how this creator shot the final project: with a cameo by her cat. I also spotted one of @grammargirl books in the writing section. 🧶

  5. This Saturday, while visiting with my in-laws in Hadley, MA, we got to spend some time at Grey Matter Books. It's one of those used bookstore archetypes that I love: a shop that appears fairly small at first but which expands shelf to shelf, room to room, and every room holds new treasures.

I ended up getting Arrival by Chiang, an annotated guide to fairy tales, and a noir mystery collection.

The Horror Section was indicated by this clever sign.

I know I do. Luckily, my friend @carolinavonkampen decided to do something about it. She is holding a this Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on Twitter about working from home with .

[Edited to add that chat is taking place on Twitter]
