RE: https://fosstodon.org/@defuneste/116580115306456061
What I have seen:
- config.yml with dev/prod
- direnv .envrc.prod / /envrc.dec
- github action with stuff on` main` / similar gitops (if branch != do_stuff, else other_stuff)
- simple argument in shiny app: my_app(prod = FALSE/TRUE)
(combo of them)

@defuneste I'm pretty proud of my #gleo thingies. I don't have any extra-wooing demos, but the framework is there.

@millerdl @defuneste @noamross Yes that is more or less an example use case -- let me know if you need help. I have assisted others before e.g. with `pkgdown` which also wants all packages and on Linux the default is from source which gets very old very fast.
There are also alternatives to #r2u if you would rather use them; I will continue to argue that _if you can use it_ nothing will beat integration with the system package manager: having the broader dependency reach is unmatched.

In the past year, there’s been a growing realization in #rlang #RStats that maybe having all our eggs in the Microsoft GitHub basket might be a bad idea.
@defuneste and I kicked off a small migration guide for #Codeberg - a GitHub alternative run by a non-profit and built on the fully open source #Forgejo.
There’s still plenty more we could do to make the site more beautiful, add Forgejo action examples and make Woodpecker CI easier to use.

I was listening to some spatial podcast with a "content creator" (CC), no linking since it was not great, One tough still came to mind as the CC describe one issue they ran from moving to full CC is that they were less connected to "real world stuff".
This is kind of obvious but was a good reminder to me that most CC is very surface level since they need to feed "engagement" and do not meet the friction that is real world (tm). Working is fighting friction
yes this is kind of [b|s]ad...

Since the older kids is crazy of never ending story music I should do my ten live bands:
- Radiohead (Berlin was cheap before)
- Dionysos - the singer had same body mass than me and we did "wheel pogo on scene"
- Denez Prigent: late late night early morning
- The toots and the Maytals, yup I was dead after
- Satanic Surfer: Surf on the Styx!
- Java: not the programing language!
- Les ogres de barback
- Anouar Brahem, slowly
- Christophe at lu
- Amon Tobin! -
