Scheduled power outage for utility line work has let me test my #residentialSolar backup plan. The good news is that the transfer from on grid to #offGrid was seamless. The bad news is that all the outlets on one side of the house are a single circuit, and the fuse isn't a high enough amperage to power to portable AC units at full power. Have to see if we can upgrade the fuse.

My electricity provider has told me to expect a 4hr outage on Tuesday. It's going to be 34c with a heat index of 43c, so Hot! Sounds like a good day to test out our #residentialSolar and #batteryBackup system powering two portable AC units as well as the fridge and other essential things.

One of the reasons we went #solar and included a #batterybackup was grid problems. We had a live test this morning when we lost grid power for 5 minutes and didn't notice. Everything worked as planned. #residentialsolar
