I met these beekeepers recently. Their hives seemed to be doing well this spring. We've also had no fewer than three bee swarms in our local orchard this week. Are bees having a moment?

On the shores of Coniston, at the weekend, I ran into this blossoming horse chestnut tree, growing amongst moss-covered rocks, with a carpet of bluebells at its feet. There are just mad numbers of bluebells in the woods around here...
