Dude in the old country had an old German "potato masher" grenade from WW2...
... He was using it to smash black coal into smaller pieces.
Well, after a few decades of that, the wooden handle broke off... So he decided to weld on a metal one, so it would last him another couple decades, as the inert grenade was a great coal smasher.
The welding went as well as you would expect welding a live grenade to go.
On the upside, the coal smasher lasted to the end of his days. -

(c) Everything *down there* is still in perfect working order (except that one thing it was supposed to do away with). (d) It’s cheap: ~360€ (~390-400 USD) then, maybe a little more today. In 2009, the film “Couples Retreat” was released and has a scene with a Guitar Hero competition to this tune. Meanwhile, while deployed to U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay the previous year, a few of us (off duty) managed to play it as well in a Guitar Hero competition of our own. I didn’t win but didn’t do too bad, actually.
