  1. 1119. MC POV: How did you learn your most valuable skill? Who taught you, and why is it so important?

Bella says, "I'm a tyro druggist, close to being a maestra. My knowledge of potions, of what the ingredients do, how to improvise and how to do the work with confidence has helped me a lot, and also saved someone's life on my journey. Knowing some magic is good, too, but being a druggist defines me."

  3. 1118. Name a catastrophic event that occurred in your world / universe.

Around a century before the story starts, a new and devastating disease swept over the land. It wiped out two of the four races in that world, the dwarf and giant equivalents Forn and Jana. The other two, Elfen and Firas (human equivalent) got sick, too, but only a few died.

The Forn thought the disease was the Elfen and Firas' doing and cursed them to fight each other until no one was left. That led to the long war my MC so desperately tries to end.

  8. #PennedPossibilities 1119: MC POV: How did you learn your most valuable skill? Who taught you, and why is it so important?

For Ethan, strictly speaking, his most valuable skill is piloting. He did that on the government's dime in flight school so he could be useful and hopefully far from Earth in space.

That said, he has a lot of soft skills born from a life of walking on eggshells with his extended family. He's observant. Abnormally so. He's also able to bullshit well, which generally serves him well in any case where he needs to pass more than casual muster.

  17. #PennedPossibilities 1119: MC POV: How did you learn your most valuable skill? Who taught you, and why is it so important?

Callum: "Valuable to me or to others? Valuable then or now? I'm tempted to say, programming is my most valuable skill, which I learned partially by myself on the internet and partially through my apprenticeship. Though, it isn't valued anymore today. Well, don't they say, the rarer, the more a thing can cost?"

    Sara:

The most valuable things in salvage are knowledge, not skills. Knowing where to go and what not to do are most important.

Charlotte's uncle taught both of us martial arts. They have an obvious self defense use, of course. Balance, focus, and general fitness are important to me. It made it much easier to teach myself how to use a sword, too.
