*** Idol I (2025) ***
(Viki 12 1:00 eps)[!!CW!! Synopsis & non-spoilery review.]
A top lawyer & secret fangirl defends her ultimate bias when he is accused of murder.
Phenomenal casting, brilliant acting, spot-on costuming, cinematography that told the story, & a wonderful OST. Writing was poetic at times & so tight that a storyline was finished with 1 line & a camera shot. If you blink, you might miss it. Writer Kim Da Rin is not credited on MDL & this seems to be the only project.
Pacing was perfect, just enough angst, & clues to the mystery dropped to keep interest up. Romance was refreshing & evolved well as the characters developed.
Messages about believing in yourself, justice, & solidarity run through the storylines. It also provides commentary on overzealous fans & the societal backlash against any imperfection of stars in Korea. Excellent!

CW: Idol I Ep 12 (end)
The herniated disk doesn't seem to bother him much, consider how he is carrying her from the kitchen counter to the bedroom 😂
Anyway it was an ok drama. I liked the plot twist about who killed Woo-seong in ep 11. I really didn't see it coming and I thought @whoosh 's theory was the right one.

CW: Idol I - New Culprit Theory
CEO seems too obvious.
How about Hye Ju's dad? He threatened La Ik in the past. U Seong died the day she went to meet La Ik.
Dad could have been trying to kill La Ik, got U Seong instead. Then decided framing him for murder is a good idea. But when he found out that Jae Hui was there & might have seen what happened, he's suddenly in an accident.
hmmm??

CW: Idol, I Ep 6
I think we will have to disagree on this one.
While I love the 2ML & he couldn't have been more wonderful in "My Sweet Mobster," our poor ML suffered tremendously in "Love in Contract." He totally deserves love now - no matter how emotionally immature he is. 🤩

CW: Idol, I Ep 6
There have been several scenes that set up him getting really angry about her being a fan. Saying things like:
I like that you don't like me, then you won't be disappointed in me
If a fan opens the lid (on the product jar) and sees the real me, they hate me
-------
So not only did she lie to him, but he knows his fans don't really love *him* they love the package and he's extremely worried about disappointing people with his real self.
Now he can't be himself around Se Na.
He's betrayed, and now has no one who likes/loves him for himself - no wonder he's furious & sad.

CW: Idol, I Ep 3
I will never again just say, "scooter" in my head when I pass one... It will now forever be "scooter of almost doom"

CW: Idol I: Culprit Theories
Anyone else have theories?
With the car malfunction, I think someone was really after Do Laik, not Kang U Seong. U Seong was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Going with that theory
Do Laik: actual intended target: innocent.
Park Chung Jae (her assistant): could he have done it because he was jealous? He seems very unlikely, but being an investigator has the skills.
Geum Bo Sang (Gold CEO): too much money at stake for him: innocent.
Jang Han Gu (Laik's manager): Seems too nice, but maybe.....
Choi Jae Hui (Goldboyz drummer): he's got something going on, but it's too obvious: innocent.
Lee Yeong Bin (Goldboyz keyboardist): His line about having nowhere else to go has me suspicious. He could have seen LaIk's solo career as a threat to the group. If he really wants the group to stay together, he should be trying to bring Laik and Jae Hui together.
Hong Hye Jin: She knew Laik wasn't home, so unlikely: innocent.
Longshot: some crazy fan

Idol I Ep 03.
That Cathedral is in Myeongdong. I recognise the stairs, the architecture and the statue of the Holy Mary outside. I have been there!
Fun fact: my Korean language teacher claims that Christian and churches are over-represented in k-dramas. Most of the population is Buddhist.

I just watched eps 4! It gets much thicker!!
Love how they are dribbling bits of info & slowly developing relationships.
