Like many poetic flowers, 'dew grass' (露草) goes by many names: 'moon grass' (月草), 'firefly grass' (蛍草), 'cap flower' (帽子花), 'blue flower' (青花) & 'clothed grass' (着き草).

'Tsuyukusa' (ツユクサ, 露草, 鴨跖草, 鴨跖) goes by many names, but because its flowers open at dawn and wither at dusk, it is commonly known as the 'dayflower'.
This brief burst of life has made it a symbol of fleeting affections, changes of heart, and nostalgic feelings.
