I walked the dog down to Okimizu River instead of the usual Hieda park, was curious to see how the river is responding to the typhoon.
The river may have been higher and more turbulent after heavy rains I photoed a few months ago... made a .gif . This time it seemed easier to just take and post a video.

Walking the river in the weeks after one of the town-coordinate weed-burnings is interesting. More of the river bank is visible, and walkable not that the thickets of 2 meter reeds and bamboo have been cleared. My guess is that chopping the weeds down to compost is more ecological but lots of people seem to like burning things. I see arguments for the #PrecautionaryPrinciple everywhere. After a burn you see all sorts of plastic debris the river tangled up in its overgrown banks.
