長崎の通年行事
「精霊流し」

「精霊船」にお盆で帰ってきた故人をまた彼岸に返してあげる、初盆の家族の行事。

戻ってゆく亡き人を偲び、賑やかに送り出すための花火や船の飾り。

長崎の中心地では、さながらの本物の市街戦のように火薬の焼けた臭いや煙がもうもうとたなびき、耳栓をしていないとその後耳鳴りがしてしまうほど。

でも、この騒がしさや喧騒の中に、これが亡くなった親族などとの最後の別れ、本当の別れなんだと思うといつも涙が滲む。

知らない人の船なのに。
