This event will be introduced by American Studies Graduate Student Marya Jones, founder of ABQ Zine Fest: We'd love to see you Thursday! THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2025 11:00am-12:pm in the UNM SUB (Upstairs, Acoma A) *See attached for details #Blkgrlswurld ZINE is an award-winning indie publishing house based in New York City. Led by Christina Long, MFA, (Global Creative Director) and her younger sister Courtney Long (Senior Editor) since 2014, the press celebrates and documents Black Womxn & Womxn of Color who participate in heavy music genres, including Metal, Hardcore, Punk, and Heavy Music. Christina Long is also a creative entrepreneur, musician, community organizer, and technologist with over a decade of experience launching products and events for major brands in New York City. Interviewing bands, reviewing albums, and vending at zine fairs allow #Blkgrlswurld ZINE to introduce readers to new music and the diversity within music scenes. Zines and artists’ books published by #Blkgrlswurld Press can be found in libraries at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, The Schomburg Center for Research On Black Culture, The Barnard Zine Library, The NY Public Library, and many more."
