@futurebird @mattsheffield the tea party started this current offshoot, gotta go way back to find a conservative with a spine to fight the machine. Robert M. La Follette, a progressive Republican. There really was such a thing! Wisconsin even had a version of ranked choice voting on the books for a couple years until the "stalwart" Republicans put an end to that fairness business.

Here's another one of our Wisconsin representatives, Tom Tiffany, who also happens to be running for Governor, making the case that the justice department is just a pawn for both parties to do their dirty work rather than put an end to all the nonsense by enacting iron clad legislation that protects the American people from opportunists like him to run roughshod over everyone's rights.
