  1. Wi-Fi HaLow vs. LoRa: A Strategic Guide to Sub-GHz Networking

In the world of Internet of Things (IoT), the sub-GHz spectrum is a frontier of immense promise, offering the holy grail of long-range and low-power communication. Two fundamentally different philosophies are vying to define this frontier. On one side stands Wi-Fi HaLow (IEEE 802.11ah), a direct evolution of the familiar, IP-based Wi-Fi standard, engineered for higher bandwidth and seamless integration. On the other lies the diverse and adaptable LoRa landscape, a collection of distinct networking protocols all built upon the same remarkable long-range radio technology.

The first meeting for the Central Ohio Radio Enthusiasts (CORE) is April 7

    The topic is WiFi HaLow

    Don't know what that is?

I know how you can find out!

  3. OpenMANET wants you to believe that turning your Raspberry Pi into a Wi-Fi HaLow wizard will save the world 🌍, one disconnected airsoft match at a time. Because when disaster strikes, what you really need is a DIY mesh network powered by a Morse Micro chipset. Who knew Instagram was where you'd follow the saviors of search and rescue missions? 📡🔧🤣

  4. I'm still looking into radio tech for my comms unit. I know I'd like to have #Meshtastic, but I definitely want to have #reticulumnetwork #rnode. But seeing as both use can run on 915MHz in the US, is it possible to run either or both through #80211ah #wifiHaLow ? Could a software based switch allow for them to run on the same device without adding multiple radios?
