Thing I just wrote:
"No one ever cried over a canceled meeting."That may be too general, but is certainly true for faculty/administrators facing hours of meetings per day. Unless it's a meeting with a student who we know is struggling, in which case we might get angsty.
What other caveats do I need to add? -

Off to a great workweek start by finishing revisions on the discussion section of a manuscript. Now back to the top to make sure my intro aligns with - and foreshadows- the discussion. #amwriting #WhatProfessorsDo #HowScienceWorks

Morning spent doing all the [administrative and teaching prep] things. Feel productive, but what happened to the time I blocked out to write?
Will have to write efficiently in the small gap I have between teaching this afternoon. #WhatProfessorsDo

I could have safely and effectively led both of those discussion style classes via Zoom or Teams, but since that is effectively banned this semester, I’m just going to cut content later on and take a nap now.

After the administrative am hours, I got to (1) work on a paper with coauthors, (2) teach about renewable energy to 30+ enthusiastic undergrads, and (3) brainstorm for a proposal with new collaborators. So much professional fun, but now I need to spend time with my family and rest before I do it all over again tomorrow.

Started my workday with multiple super-administrative but very important emails. Ugh. Now going to reward myself with some research time before finishing teaching prep.
