Wir geben dem Nachwuchs eine Chance! Die Neuauflage unseres Radfahr-Intensiv-Kurses an der Wilhelm-Grundschule #Ditzingen #WGS hat begonnen, zur Vorbereitung auf die Fahrradprüfung der #Verkehrswacht. Die liegt dieses Jahr im März, also muss der Kurs halt im Winter sein. Für die Kinder kein Problem, die sind warm angezogen und lernen gleich was Wichtiges: #Radfahren (lernen) macht auch im Winter Spaß! Trotzdem: großes Tapferkeits-Lob an die Viertklässler*innen!

WGS of LPAIV H6N2 was sequenced from a Brazilian teal (Amazonetta brasiliensis) in Brazil, 2023. Phylogenetic analysis of the whole genome revealed a distinct genome pertaining to South American LPAIV from 2014 to 2016, indicating extensive circulation among South American wild birds.

The Armed Forces of #Ukraine switch to the WGS-84 world coordinate system, commonly used by #NATO countries, instead of the Soviet SK-42, which is accurate only for the territory of the former #USSR.
Establishing #coordinatesystems of the Alliance will improve the compatibility of troops and ensure the exchange of data between the Ukrainian army and other states. A lot of software can provide genotype likelihood for a #WGS #NGS sample, only one I know provide the likelihood of ALL 10 genotypes for a site, i.e. ANGSD.
Anyone knows any software that calculate all allele likelihood for a site? So I wanna know the probability of observing allele A, C, G, and T in a site. The ones I found only provide probability of one allele (consensus/random).

Not sure if I should ask here or the other instance... : Does anyone here use strelka2 for variant calling? I love how it have its own python script to write the regional parallelization for you and can run really fast but starting to wonder why it is not used more in the #ConservationGenomics or #AnimalGenetics as opposed to GATK HaplotypeCaller.

For a #Genealogy Project, I have been tracing surname lines with #GeneticGenealogy using #Y_Chromosome #SnpTests from Family Tree DNA ( #FTDNA ). That has worked out very well.
Now am trying to look at autosomal SNPs from #WholeGenomeSequencing ( #WGS ) tests to detect possible common ancestors back 9-12 generations or so. Want to see if very rare genetic variants ( #vrGV ) can be used in some way to identify those possible connections.
