After the thunderstorms on Monday it's been hazy and humid so far this morning in West Devon.
We are now in an official #heatwave, following three days with maximum temperatures exceeding 25 °C:

It's been a long time since a sunny day was forecast, and we had a clear view of Dartmoor under a blue sky.
Plus a bonus picture of the almost forgotten sun, shining behind a leafless tree.

The forecast heavy rain has arrived in West Devon.
There are 🚨 flood alerts 🚨 across #Devon and #Cornwall
The alert for the Upper River Tamar catchment says:
"Forecast high river levels over the next two days may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 26 January 2026 and into Tuesday 27th January 2026.
Prolonged heavy rainfall is forecast throughout Monday and into Tuesday.
Catchments are saturated and rivers are expected to respond.
Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water."

There's a weather warning for lots more rain tomorrow, but this morning the sky is blue and there's frost on the grass.
#Dartmoor is clearly visible in the distance.

Below a clear blue sky there is some mist in the dips this morning.
Highs around 20°C are forecast for West Devon today. There's going to plenty more sunshine over the weekend and the start of next week.
I'll be heading for the seaside!
